Devils Tower National Monument is a nearly vertical 1,267 foot high monolith of rock that is a sacred site of worship for many American Indians. Interpretive exhibits at the visitors center explain the geologic, natural and cultural history of the area. The 1.3 mile paved Tower Trails circles the tower .... there are 7 miles of other longer trails.

Rock climbing is popular here and the tower is particularly known for it's great crack climbing. Devil Tower Wyoming Park is also good for bird watching and camping.

Wyoming has a large number of great ski areas. Grand Targhee Ski & Summer Resort gets 500 inches of snow annually .... Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has a high speed quad gondola .... Sleeping Giant Ski Hill has ideal temperatures for skiing and very little wind .... Snow King Resort sits in the foothills of the Gros Ventre Mountains. During the summer they offer such activities as horseback riding and hiking.

Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, with its boiling springs and 250 natural geysers, reminds us of the volatile possibilities of our natural world. Waterfalls, wildlife, and rocky landscape will grace your vacation. There are an incredible 1,100 miles of excellent Wyoming hiking trails and lots of it suitable for day hikes. The best way to enjoy the park is to get out of your car and take at least a short walk. It's a big park, pick an area and then make a day of it.

View the preparation lab where the dinosaur fossils are removed from the rock and prepared for display. The museum has over 200 displays with 20 full-size mounted skeletons, including 10 dinosaurs. Join paleotechnicians on an actual dinosaur dig. You may even find a dinosaur bone.

The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens is a Wyoming vacation spot open free to the public .... botanic garden, municipal nursery and community garden. Located in Lions Park in Cheyenne the gardens, grounds and conservatory are maintained almost exclusively by senior, youth and handicapped volunteers. The 6,800-square-foot solar conservatory consists of three greenhouses including a waterfall pond filled with Koi fish. Some highlights are the nationally recognized inspirational Peace Garden, sensory garden, Discovery Pond, and the educational wetland area.

Cody has been called The Rodeo Capital of the World because of the Cody Night Rodeo .... held every night of June thru August. Cody is home to Old Trail Town, a collection frontier buildings and historical western relics. This includes Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid's Hole-in-the-Wall cabin.

The 230,000 square foot Buffalo Bill Historical Center has four museums; the Buffalo Bill Museum, the Plains Indian Museum, the Cody Firearms Museum, and the Whitney Gallery of Western Art.

Lander is home to the annual International Climbers Festival. This area is internationally known for its quality rock climbing .... The Wind River Mountains, Wild Iris, Sinks Canyon, Gannet Peak, and Cirque of the Towers. There are literally hundreds of climbing routes up limestone, sandstone, and granite faces. The festival is a non-competitive event designed for pure fun and includes a film festival night and trade fair.

Grand Teton National Park is next door to Yellowstone. Hiking trails wind around lakes and wetlands and lead up into the Teton Range of mountains thrusting up from the valley floor. The park encompasses 300,000 acres with an abundance of wildlife and plant species and more than 100 alpine lakes.

Sightings of elk, moose, pronghorn, mule deer, and bison are common as well as black bears. The park is great for almost any outdoor activity you like. It’s an excellent Wyoming campground.
