Walt Disney World Tips #1:
Contributed by Scott, Michigan - Our family (myself, my wife, and 6 year old daughter) took a 7 day summer vacation to Disney World in Orlando, Florida. We rented a 4 bedroom house with a swimming pool and game room about 15 minutes away from the Disney front gates.

We chose to rent a house versus a hotel because it made this vacation idea more affordable. Also,we really like the extra space the house offered, and it was nice to be able to cook a lot of our meals in the large kitchen.

In the long run, it saved us a lot of money by eating breakfast and some dinners in our house. Disney World really offers something for everyone.

We purchased a 7 day ticket, as the 7 day was only a few dollars more than the 4 day pass. We actually spent 5 days at the parks. 2 days at the Magic Kingdom (My daughter's favorite park), 1 day at Hollywood Studios, 1 day at Epcot (my favorite), and 1 day at the Animal Kingdom (my wife's favorite).

We had a great time all week. The Disney Staff (Cast Members) were all very friendly, and the quality of the amusements, rides, shows was first class. Disney does an excellent job of managing the large amount of people that visit the parks each day. My daughter loved meeting the different Disney characters, and getting their autographs.

The longest we waited for a ride was 1 hour, at the GM Test Track ride at Epcot. After a long day at the parks, it was very nice to come back to our rental house, have a drink, and take a swim in our swimming pool.

We also spent one day just relaxing around the house and pool. In summary, this was a wonderful vacation for our family. We hope to do it again next year. Thanks Scott for these Walt Disney World Tips.

Walt Disney World Tips & Vacation Ideas #2:
Contributed by Stephen, Florida - We went to Orlando, Florida and stayed at a Holiday Inn in a town right outside of Orlando called Kissimmee.

On the first day we went to Disney and picked the Magic Kingdom park. Which was very entertaining and spent most of the day walking around it riding in rides using the fast passes when possible and standing in line for other rides while waiting for the time to come for our fast passes. We found this to be the best technique for riding rides at Disney.

That night we watched the nightly parade and fireworks show at the park. It was very interesting to watch the parade at night as all the costumes were very colorfully and the fireworks were done to music and a little show. The next day we went to the Animal Kingdom at Disney.

Followed the same rule riding rides as day one and worked just as well. We watched the parade during the day there as well. That one had all kinds of props of wooden animals that the workers would walk around in, had a circus feel to it.

We spent the next day at Universal and went to both parks. The funnest rides there were The Simpsons, Mummy and Hulk. We wanted to ride the Twin Dragons as well, but due to a short rain storm happening that day stopping them from running the rides we didn't have enough time.

On the final day we went to a water park by the name of Wet & Wild that was also in Orlando. It has a number of water slides for people that enjoy going down those. The park also had a nice side wave pool and a big kiddie pool area the younger children. Thanks Stephen for these Walt Disney World Tips.

Contributed by Jodi, Kansas - Without a doubt the best family vacation that we ever took was a week at Orlando's Walt Disney World.

We took advantage of the "Grand Plan" option that provides for an all inclusive experience. It started with a limo to pick us up from the airport, delivered us to our own personal concierge who made sure we could go anywhere we wanted, eat at any restaurant, get in early to the parks, attend special Grand Plan guest only tours and shows and more.

We stayed at the Grand Floridian and our balcony looked out over the Magic Kingdom where the kids watched the fireworks every night. We visited all the different parks, took in several shows, had meals with the characters, took a nighttime boat trip out to the laser and fireworks show at Epcot Center and a so much more. It was a chance rainy day that led to one of the best days our family ever had before or since.

The DisneyQuest indoor attraction had just opened and was being tested out so it was not heavily advertised yet. We had the run of everything in the three story building for a full day almost all to ourselves. My daughter and I thought the best part was the animation station where you drew Disney characters and they came to life on a giant TV screen where you could control them.

My husband and son could not get enough of the programmable roller coaster ride. The station featured a computer to build the roller coaster of your dreams then you got into a simulator that could go in all directions, even upside down so you could "feel" the ride on the coaster. They both said the experience was so real they felt woozy from it.

By going with the Grand Plan we did spend more up front, but it allowed us to fully relax while we were on the property. We never had to say no to anything the kids wanted or question if we could afford to do this or that. There were also hundreds of little things that came with it that made you feel special all the time. Thanks Jodi for these Walt Disney World Tips.

Walt Disney World Tips & Vacation Ideas #4:
Contributed by Freddy, Tennessee - When I was a child, I always wanted to go to an amusement park or a theme park. But the neighborhood swingset was the only place my parents could afford to take me. They always felt bad knowing they couldn't give me my every desire, but I was a smart, grateful kid.

I knew how hard they worked, and how much they loved me. I was content with whatever they could give me. But when my twelfth birthday came around, I got the biggest surprise I could ever have imagined.

My parents surprised me with tickets for the three of us to...Disney World and Universal Studios in Florida...and Six Flags in Georgia. They had saved up enough money over the years to take me on a three week birthday vacation to some of the most amazing theme parks in the United States!

Not only did I gain the experience of being at a theme park, I gained a good amount of travel experience, as I had never been out of the state of Tennessee before then. We didn't stay in any fancy suites or hotels, or have dinner with Mickey Mouse or whatever, but I didn't need that to make the vacation spectacular.

Plus, they wanted me to go to college eventually, so they chose not to put us completely in debt. I had THE time of my life. To this day, I have never had a better vacation than that. I don't believe I ever could. Thanks Freddy for these Walt Disney World Tips.
