Virginia Golf Vacations #1:
Massanutten Resort, just east of Harrisonburg, Virginia is a great golf vacation spot as well as a family vacation destination. You can play two excellent 18-hole golf courses, Mountain Greens and Woodstone Meadows as well as a year round driving range. While enjoying a golf getaway at Massanutten Resort the whole family can have fun at the Waterpark at Massanutten. There’s an indoor section of the waterpark that’s open year round and is always 84 degrees.

The outdoor park is open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Waterpark at Massanutten has lots of water slides, rides and sprays that the kids will love.

Massanutten offers golf as well The Spa at Massanutten, two indoor pools and two outdoor pools, Mountain Biking and a Skate Park along with bike, in-line skate, skateboard.

Fairfax County, along the far northeast border of Virginia, has much to offer vacationing golfers. Two top championship courses in Fairfax County are South Riding Golf Club and Pleasant Valley. These two courses were honored by Golf Digest as two of 2008’s "Places to Play".

The Burke Lake Golf Course is a 218-acre lakefront park with an 18-hole par 3 golf course. At Fairfax National Golf Course you can play a true classic design with 27 holes spread out over 550 acres.

One of the area’s most challenging and scenic courses is Pohick Bay Regional Park Golf Course which includes a driving range and practice facility. Another highly regarded and challenging course is the 18-hole, par 71 Penderson Golf Course. The Greendale Golf Course is a Municipal eighteen-hole course located in Alexandria featuring 148 acres of rolling terrain.
