Vacation Spots in Tennessee

Vacation Spots in Tennessee #1:

Spend your vacation in a cozy forest cabin in the beautiful Cohutta Wilderness Area of Georgia. It’s right along the border of Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina. Rent a cabin with a mountain view or along the creekside. Bear Den Cabins has some excellent cabins. This is a great vacation idea for a family or for a romantic getaway for couples.

This area of the Blue Ridge Mountains is well known with hiking enthusiasts. There are some really nice trails like the The Jacks River Trail.

This one is popular because it crosses many other trails allowing you access to many different areas of the forest. Nearby is Orchard at Altapass.

This century old apple orchard is a fun place to visit and tour. They are now also a cultural center for music and art with a Butterfly Conservation Center, the Orchard beehive and it’s a great place for bird watching.

By Brenda from Maine - Last October I took the best vacation I've ever had! I travelled south to meet up with a friend I met online, and we took a road trip to Chattanooga, TN. We rented a house just over the Georgia border with four other girls, and we had a blast! The rental was great, the area was fantastic.

We spent a lot of time in the pool drinking and acting foolish. We spent a few evenings at a local bar called "Images" where we caught a drag cabaret and danced. The people were fantastic and friendly. Later in the week we took a day trip to Pigeon Forge and rode all the roller coasters at Dollywood.

I was so exhausted by the end of the trip, but in a good way. I'm planning another trip this fall with the same people, and we're even renting the same house in Georgia. The area was beautiful, the people were friendly and wonderful, and it was the most exhausting, relaxing, fun week I've had in my life! Can't wait to get back.

Vacation Spots in Tennessee #4:

By Josh Benz from St. Louis, MO - The best vacation that I have ever been on is to Memphis, TN. I go there every year to the Beale street music fest. The music line-up is always great. The bands include rap, hip hop, country, rock, and everything in between. It changes every year, but there is something for everyone.

I love Jerry Lee Lewis and he plays every year. It's a 3 day fest that starts the first week of May. Also, you can't go wrong with the bars and restaurants. Memphis has some of the best bbq ever. BB Kings has really good ribs. If you like fried chicken, then Gus's is where to go. Best you will ever have.

It's got just the right amount of spices. The price can't be beat either. The bars on Beale are great to. They range from blues to rock to club music. Then there is also Graceland and Sun Studios. The birth places of rock. If you are looking for a great place to go and have a great time with friends, Memphis is the place to go.

By Kristina from GA - A good place to go on vacation is Gatlinburg, TN. If you're looking for a place to find lots of activities and interesting stores, this is a great place. They have places to eat that are unique and highly rated (at an average price). There is an aquarium, beautiful rivers to walk by, and tons of local shops.

Gatlinburg is a great place if you like to stay busy while on vacation. There is a place called Wonder Works that people of any age can enjoy. There are a few comedy clubs and dinner shows. If you are interested in cars there is a HUGE car show each year that would make any car enthusiast happy.

If you have pets you want to bring with you this a great destination for that as well. There are multiple hotels and suits that allow pets. There are also many bars and night clubs for those that are interested as well. Almost all activities are within walking distance! Overall this can be a fun vacation for couples, families, or just to get away and party.

By Shawna from Michigan - A few years ago, my parents decided they wanted to get married. They always wanted a destination wedding. They choose Gatlinburg TN. We went at the end of March and everything was amazing. My husband and I rented our own little condo tucked into The Smokey Mountains.

Gatlinburg has many attractions such as an aquarium and the Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum but our favorite places were the places that didn't require a lot of money. When we first arrived in town we played "Hill Billy Mini- Golf". You ride a little trolley up the mountain and then play a round of golf hill-billy style, of course.

We also loved visiting Cades Cove. It was a scenic route deep into The Smokey's. Originally, the area was founded by a Cherokee Tribe, is filled with cabins from the late 1800s, wildlife galore and many beautiful scenic outlooks.
