Vacation in Rhode Island #1:
Block Island is one of Rhode Island’s natural treasures and is a popular choice for people searching for island vacation ideas. In fact, this environmentally protected island was named one of the original “Last Great Places” in the western hemisphere by the Nature Conservatory. Come enjoy miles and miles of gorgeous beaches and hiking trails. A great way to really enjoy a getaway on Block Island is to plan your vacation with Great Freedom Adventures.

They have a Block Island RI Bike Tour where you will stay at a top rated inn and then fully explore the island via bike.

Besides cycling, the trip includes a kayak adventure, fresh caught seafood, a sunset sail on a trimaran, exploring lighthouses, time on the beach, panoramic views and lots more. Great Freedom Adventures focuses on biking vacations in New England and Block Island, Rhode Island is a popular choice.

Vacation in Rhode Island #2:
Our vacation in Rhode Island by Kim from Ohio - Vacationing is the one time of year where we can just relax and be with our families. Last summer, my husband and I were looking for the picture perfect location to rest, relax, and enjoy each other’s company.

For us, this meant no cell phones, no laptops, and most importantly: No work!! We spent nearly 6 months researching places to visit within the United States that we had never been before.

Due to our budget, we ruled out Hawaii immediately (although we have been there before and have to say it is one of the most beautiful places one could ever hope to experience), but we were still looking for a place rich with history and scenery since we both love nature and the outdoors.

In the end, a vacation in Rhode Island was our final selection. Since that trip last summer, we have not been able to stop talking about it.

Granted, we spent an entire week there and STILL didn’t feel as if we had experienced all the grace and beauty of this alluring coastal retreat.

Some of our favorite activities that come to mind are the lighthouse tours, coastal walks, and many of the museums left that still celebrate and preserve Rhode Island’s history.

As a result of my husband’s passion and wonder for ghosts and the “unknown,” we ended up spending two entire days visiting some of the most well known “haunted” areas of Newport and North Kingstown. This included several of the larger cemeteries where many civil war heroes were laid to rest.

Overall, however, I would have to say that the lighthouses were my favorite part of our vacation in Rhode Island. I have always been baffled by the wonder and the feeling of remote peace that come over me whenever I see these statuesque beacons regardless of how big or small they are, and especially if they are original structures.

It really gives one a sense of respect for days gone by and makes us wonder what the past might have been like for those who lived before us.

Honestly, my husband and I have traveled many places and will continue to do so, but the reason Rhode Island sticks out in my mind the most is due to the fact that this is a vacation spot that has it ALL.

The people are so very friendly, the nature and sightseeing is unparalleled, the selection of inns/beds and breakfasts to stay in are enormous, and the activities available are too numerous to count.

No doubt about it, Rhode Island is the perfect vacation idea.

Whether you are a married couple wanting that perfect getaway, a family looking for an enthralling place to take the kids, or perhaps even a larger family seeking a unique reunion spot for the entire group!

Regardless, I have to give the reader at least one piece of advice before setting out on your vacation in Rhode Island, and that is: Take your time, and what I mean by this is don’t get in a hurry! Take the time to RELAX, take in the scenery, and enjoy all the splendor that Rhode Island has to offer, you will be glad you did!!
