Vacation Ideas Weekend Getaways

Vacation Ideas Weekend Getaways #1: My favorite place to vacation is, surprisingly, Manitowoc, Wisconsin. This quaint little town has a wonderful atmosphere of the towns of the 60's, with a great view onto the beach. There are some interesting museums, one even with access into a Submarine!

The art in the area is almost as good as the amazing architecture in the city! With exciting towns nearby, and even a ferry to Ludington Michigan, this Lake town satisfies almost all the needs a relaxing vacation! With miles of beaches, tens of shops, and an incredibly low crime rate, this town is perfect for any visitor of any age!

I make it a point to visit this small, yet wonderful town at least once a year, because of its majestic views and wonderful feel.

I hope if any of you have a chance to visit this great town, come spend a weekend or more. I'm sure you won't be disappointed with this vacation idea! By Moose from Wisconsin

Vacation Ideas Weekend Getaways #2:
I remember the first time I went to Las Vegas. As I drove into the city seeing the most amazing hotels and environment I have ever seen.

Everywhere I looked, I saw billion dollar hotels that looked so expensive and amazing.

The bright lights coming from every direction, the exotic cars on the road, immediately I knew this was the place for me.

Although every hotel was so amazing, I stayed at the Mandalay Bay, which is a type of beach resort. I was in Las Vegas to enjoy a boxing fight. I ended up getting a incredible room with a breath taking view of the strip. As I unpacked my bags after checking into the hotel, I was so impressed with the huge variety of places to eat.

Every kind of food was there, from sushi to steaks to pasta and buffets, they had it all. I was so happy there. I was also so excited that I got to see a Mike Tyson fight, at the time I went he was still fighting.

There were celebrities everywhere. I took my camera and was able to get pictures of some great actors and sports greats. The nightlife was also so amazing: The best clubs in the world with the best drinks.

Perfect for Las Vegas weekend getaways. beautiful girls everywhere and the weather was really nice as a lot of Vegas is walking around, so I was very comfortable. The pools and spas were so relaxing. I will for sure go back. - By Jon from California

Vacation Ideas Weekend Getaways #3: Have you ever wanted to drive a Lamborghini, Ferrari or a Porsche? Go to Las Vegas for a weekend getaway and head to "Las Vegas Exotics Racing Experience.

Yellow Lamborghini
Their auto racing experts will provide you with an experience you will never forget - the thrill of driving a luxury exotic performance auto on one of the world's most famous race tracks. You are behind the wheel with a personal coach as you eat up the pavement with one of these beautiful supercars.
Vacation Ideas Weekend Getaways#4: I absolutely love to ATV! There is just something so thrilling and yet so calming when I am riding on an ATV in the middle of the desert. The first time I ever rode an ATV, was in Nevada.

My family and I went to Vegas, but at the time I was under 21 so there wasn’t a whole lot I could do so I decided to indulge in some of the tours. A Motor Coach picked me up at my hotel and drove me to Primm Nevada where my adventure began. It was a 2 hour ride from Primm to just over the California Border.

While on the tour I was guided by an ATV expert who took us through the desert, up hills and even over some bumpy terrain (very fun on an ATV) I was able to stop and take pictures on the hills and near the rocks and I even got to hold a wild (but not poisonous) snake. Over all the trip lasted about 5 hours including the drive to and from the hotel.

I love ATV-ing because I am a natural born adventurer. You never know what you might encounter on an ATV tour. It's relaxing and I like the feel of the wind as it is hitting my face and as I am flying on that powerful little motor bike. Every one of my Las Vegas weekend getaways, I do an ATV tour of some kind. It’s my favorite thing to do on vacation. - By Kathy from Chicago, Il

Vacation Ideas Weekend Getaways #5: Our favorite vacation spot Gatlinburg, TN. While we've been to plenty of romantic beach getaways, a beautiful secluded mountain vacation tops them all for us. Gatlinburg has the perfect location- right in the middle of the Great Smoky Mountains, and the scenery just grabs you by the heart as soon as you see it. My suggestion is to choose one of the many cabins or chalets.

Many of the area accommodations have spectacular restaurants, great spa facilities, and attentive staff. With the secluded cabins, you and your sweetheart will be able to have a romantic and secluded getaway but still have the charming small town of Gatlinburg just minutes away.

There are many great walking trails, a tramway to the mountaintop, really quaint shopping, and much more to enjoy in Gatlinburg.

Compared to many other places we could go, Gatlinburg provides a lot of vacation pleasure for way less cost. For a romantic getaway, it's the best: beautiful scenery, plenty to do, and alone time with your other half. - Contributed by Amy

Vacation Ideas Weekend Getaways #6: The most romantic vacation spot that I've ever been to was Rincon, Puerto Rico. The beaches are fantastic, it's like you can see forever when you look out onto the horizon. Eating local food and being away from the more "touristy" parts of PR makes this spot a perfect low cost get-a-way for a couple!

Most hotels are inexpensive and the locals are very friendly, willing to help you find what you need at a drop of a dime. At nighttime, the beaches light up with swim-up bars and tiki huts with delicious frozen drinks and a snack called Pincho Pollo, which is basically a chicken kabob grilled and marinated to perfection!

I would recommend this vacation spot to anyone, couple or not, looking for a relaxing and culturally exciting vacation that cost you nearly as much as many other more popular and crowded tropical vacation spots. - Contributed by Melanie

Vacation Ideas Weekend Getaways #7: I'm just back from the best weekend vacation break that I've ever been on. We went to New York and stayed in mid-town Manhattan at the Belvedere Hotel on West 48th Street. The hotel has a swimming pool which was a great way to wake up each morning before going out to enjoy the city. There's so much to do in New York that a weekend passes in no time at all.

We spent half a day in Central Park Zoo which is very interesting and contains animals from all over the world. The hotel was just a short walk to the Empire State Building where we went up to the viewing gallery and took many photographs of the stunning New York skyline.

After that we sat outside and hate hotdogs with mustard - just like the locals. If you go in winter as we did then don't forget to visit the Ice Rink at the Rockefeller Center.

Like our hotel, this was in central Manhattan on 5th Avenue and is an enjoyable way to get some fresh air and fun at the same time.

The pace in New York is very fast but that is what makes it so enjoyable, the only thing is, that afterward you may need a holiday to relax from all the excitement. - By Chuck from Iowa
