Wildlife viewing is something that kids really enjoy and there’s plenty of wildlife around. They have cabins and lodge rooms that can accommodate any size family and the rates are easy on the family vacation budget.

Through much of the year YMCA of the Rockies holds special themed family weekends. The activities focus on a theme like outdoor winter time activities, crafts, family magic tricks or guided hikes.

The kids will love Elmo’s World, Big Bird’s Balloon race, Ernie’s bed Bounce and Monster Maze. Some of the wet rides are Bert & Ernie’s Slip & Slide, Rubber Duckie Pond and Tiny Tiny Tidal Wave.

Special events are held throughout the year such as fireworks displays in July or Holiday Dining with the Characters during December. Sesame Place is located in Langhorne, Pa which is 30 minutes north of Philadelphia and 90 minutes south of New York City.

The kids can race against each other as they dive boggan head first down the slide. Play and get drenched under a giant tipping bucket at the Tahiti Tree House. They can hide and slide and play in the 40-foot pirate ship in Pirates lagoon. Water Country is located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

A few of their innovative and fun things to do are inline skating, circus school for children and flying trapeze. They have a Tennis Academy and Golf Academy with 18-hole and 9-hole courses. Sports are a big part of the experience here with facilities for basketball, beach volleyball, soccer, volley ball, water polo and weight room.

There is plenty of luxury here for the adults with private balconies with ocean views, marble floors, Mayan architecture, top restaurants and spa. The Explorer’s Club for Kids has daily programs for ages 3-12. The activities are based on science, nature, and exploration.

The kids can have an adventure sleeping on the beach or in tents. There are sandcastle competitions, a game room and arts & crafts projects. While staying at the Dreams Resort & Spa Cancun you can take the family to explore ancient archeological sites at Tulum, Chichen Itza and Uxmal.
