Pefkohori is a small town, and it’s full of visitors who came from all across the world to visit Greece. I’ve actually vacationed there 8 years in a row. It’s very beautiful. The last time I was there the sea water was very warm. I really enjoyed swimming. The beach was beautiful too with very nice sand. I really loved to watch the sunset. It was very hot during the days. My family and I were eating ice creams all the time. I loved the famous Greek Gyro. It was a bit expensive though. But I don’t care about the cost I was enjoying it too much. I can’t wait to go there again this year. Very nice girls are on the beaches and I also enjoyed watching them. Playing tennis with my friends, walking by the beach, watching at the boats, getting some dark suntan, everything was perfect. The fall season was a wonderful period to be overseas with a backpack -- and a Eurorail pass in my pocket. For whatever reason, I decided to head toward Munich for the Oktoberfest. Germans, as you might have heard, are known for their beer making skills. And I wanted to taste every brew they had to offer. As I got off the train in Munich, I was immersed in a sea of people enjoying this festive celebration. The trouble was, I didn't know where I was going to stay. And as I soon found out, it is not easy (if not impossible!) to find a hostel, room, hotel, motel -- anything -- within 100 miles of the city this time of year. So, I just went from building to building, and anything that looked remotely like a room for rent, I just pressed the door buzzer and shouted:"Zimmer zu vermieten?" It was basically the only phrase I remembered after a whole year of high school German. After several dozen attempts, I managed to connect with an elderly lady who was pleasant enough, but stern and strict. The room was typically German, Spartan and somewhat sterile, but comfortable enough. The highlight of this travel vacation Europe was a visit to the famous Hofbraeuhaus beer hall and brewery. It was here that I was introduced to every myth, legend, stereotype I had ever been exposed about German culture. Beer maidens in white flowered garb rushed around with huge, and I mean, HUGE, glass mugs of freshly tapped beer from enormous kegs. Setting them down on long wooden tables, some reserved for beer club members wearing elite logos on their blazers to ward off those newcomers who might dare sit and drink at their reserved tables. I can't say I remember much of that night, but I do know that I've never had a better time in my life. Laughter, noise, music, foot-stomping, hand-clapping dancing and just simply a joyous atmosphere cut through every second of that long dark night. Germans are stand-offish at first, but I found out that, once you make them friends, you have a friend for life. And they treat you that way. I polished off the night by stopping by a sausage cart and devoured bratwurst and hot mustard with hot-roasted chestnuts that I can still taste to this very day. And I shall treasure those precious moments forever every time I hoist a mug of imported German beer and dream again of returning through those hallowed Munich doors of the Hofbraeuhaus again. We visited the Groeninge museum, Church of our Lady, The Basilica of Holy Blood, the City Hall and The Grote market. The people there are relaxed and friendly with a welcoming attitude. I would suggest that anyone with an eye for art and history should visit Bruges at the least once. We asked our hotelier and he assured us that we wouldn’t worry, that the trail was flat and we would not have problems. That’s when we learned that everything is relative. What is "flat" to a native Swiss is definitely not flat to some older couples from the plains of the Midwest. We persevered, making it up to the castle, across the hills, past many cows and to a surprise view of an artist’s sculpture garden. Our reward at the end of the trail was the Wilhelm Tell Kappelle "a chapel to his bravery" a great outdoor exhibit about the William Tell story and an inn with a wonderful menu to accommodate the appetites we worked up on our trek. The Rotarians of those countries are quite knowledgeable and they know their country quite well. Now for the real thing... We spent two weeks in the Netherlands, a week in the south and week up north. I am more of a nature's person, so I liked the south more with all the scenery and woods. We were staying in a place called oisterwejk; there was de efteling (theme park), blau mere, ride of bikes in the woods and lastly canoeing. De Efteling is a very famous theme park in Holland and I was really amazed by its great rides and you would surely have to spend the whole day there, at least from 9 am you have to be there. Second day was the blau mere, for those who like spending the day by the beach side but with no beach it is all green, whether grass or trees. It is a huge lake. Banana boats and jet skis are available for use and at low prices; there is also a small restaurant that offers good prices. The third day was the ride of bikes. You go to the park that is known as sand park or something like that. When there were sand storms in the past, it caused death of plants and farms. The Dutch people planted large trees that grew and shrank the sand size and now it is a sight. There are sand spots in the middle of the woods. You would take a bike and a GPS device and start their journey in that glorious spots. The last day was the canoeing; it uses up all the day as well. There branches of a great river in the south that you take a canoe with one or two friends and start circling those small rivers. The second week was up near Amsterdam and Rotterdam; Visiting various museums and art galleries. That was all, at the end I found Holland as the best country for a travel vacation Europe. If I have the opportunity to go again I would definitely go. Majorca tourist travel information guide - Majorca, the number 1 destination for European tourists.
