The Intel Museum in Santa Clara, CA is the museum of the inventors of the microprocessor. Intel was the very first silicon company in Silicon Valley. Their museum is very informative, very interactive and a lot of fun.

You’ll learn the history of Intel, processors and computers. Two of the most interesting features are the exhibits of old technology and the fact that the museum is free.

There are five classes of animals at the Happy Hollow Zoo in San Jose, CA. These are mammals, reptiles, birds, arachnid and insects.

The zoo is a very busy place with a carousel, a roller- coaster, a great play area and a puppet theater. This is a family oriented attraction where the admission fee covers all rides and there are lots of things for the younger children.

The San Jose Museum of Art has an impressive collection of art which includes drawings, paintings, prints, photography, sculpture, new media and many books written by the artists. The Activity Pool is designed for the whole family with water-falls, gang slides and an alligators back to climb on.

Alum Rock Park in San Jose, CA is one of the oldest city parks in California. The park has 13 miles of trails with a broad range of scenery. Add some playground areas, a few picnic area and some sand volleyball pits and you’ve found a great vacation idea. Some of the trails are open to mountain bikes and equestrians and others are reserved for hikers.

Hakone Gardens in Saratoga, CA is a beautiful stopping place for a little quiet relaxation while on your California vacation. It was designed by a descendant of one of the imperial gardeners.

The Harris-Lass House Museum in Santa Clara, CA is an historic landmark and is named for the two families that lived there well over a Century ago. Built in 1865 with a unique Italian architecture, this interesting farm has been restored to become a favorite for visiting tourists. Guides will show you how people lived and farmed back then.

The Joseph D. Grant County Park and its 9,560 acres provide an oasis of green to the city of San Jose. The park’s 52 miles of trails are available for both equestrians and hikers. Mountain bikes are allowed in on half of the trail system. There are some beautiful shaded picnic areas plus a lake and ponds for fresh water fishing. This is one of the prettiest spots in Santa Clara County.
