When you think of amusements parks in Central PA, the first thing that comes to mind for many is Hershey Park. But there’s another great park a little further north. Knoebels Amusement Resort is located in Elysburg which is off Route 80 near Bloomsburg.

Local businesses, such as the Weis Market can provide vouchers for free rides. Knoebels Amusement Resort works hard to put a smile on every visitor’s face. Want to bring a wagon to let the little kids get around easily? No problem. Want to bring your pet dog? No problem.

Maybe you will love it as much as they do.

Tourist Attractions in Pennsylvania #2:
Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia, PA has no inmates anymore but it does have a rich history which makes it an interesting tourist visit. Although the site may seem odd at first, many people have found it quite fascinating and well worth the visit.

One of the best ways to visit the prison is via an audio tour where you get the story behind each story. There is an interesting exhibit prepared by the Fleisher Memorial Synagogue which explains the life of Jewish prisoners at the prison. The prison, built in 1826, has housed infamous offender such as bank robber Willie Sutton and Al Capone.

The William E. Swigart Jr. Automobile Museum in Huntingdon. PA is the place to go if you like old cars. It’s the oldest museum for cars in the U.S. and it is the home of some very early automobiles. The museum’s collection of vehicles that use one or two cylinders is one of the best in the country. Several of these vehicles are thought to be one of a kind. Just like people, each car has a personality.

They can that can take us back to a time when motor carriages were crafted one at a time rather than on the assembly line. The museum also has many classic models such as Cord, Pierce-Arrow and Duesenberg. The total collection covers nearly a century of automotive history.

By Allie from California - When I went Pennsylvania, I did several things, but the things that stood out most to me was getting to see the Amish country. I loved the culture. It was so neat to be on the road with horses and buggies next to you. I learned all about what it was like to be Amish, and I even got to go inside the house of one of the families.

It was all very interesting to me. What I thought was kind of strange is that in the area we were in, there were lots of little gift shops with handmade items. To finish off the day, we tried some homemade Amish rootbeer, which ended up being one of the best rootbeers I ever have had. All in all, if you are looking for an experience that is like no other, you should got to Lancaster County, and see the Amish country. It's a trip I won't forget.

By Sarah from Tennessee - When my husband and I were planning our wedding we began talking about where we wanted to go on our honeymoon so we started searching the internet and asking friends for favorite honeymoon spots.

Most were too expensive for us or just not somewhere we really wanted to go and then we found what we were looking for. It's a place that caters to honeymooners, people celebrating anniversaries, or just couples looking to get away. It's the Poconos!

Poconos Caesars Resorts have four different resorts that offer many different options. There is one resort that is for families and the other three are strictly for couples. There are also different packages that offer different amenities and range in prices and are all inclusive.

My husband and I stayed in a spectacular room that had our own swimming pool, sauna, champagne glass whirlpool, and round bed looking up at ceiling of sparkling stars. They have activities planned throughout the day that you can participate in such as scavenger hunts, bingo, singing contests, and trivia contests.

Or you can take a walk along the beach of their own lake, go fishing or boating, ride bikes around the resort, or even golf on their own private golf course. They offer a wonderful breakfast and dinner buffet where you can sit alone or mingle with other couples from around the country.

In the evening you can enjoy live entertainment in their nightclub such as bands or comedians or even participate in the newlywed game. My husband and I had so much fun and it was so nice not having to worry about not paying for food or any of the activities while there. We were able to concentrate on having fun and enjoying ourselves. We plan on returning for our 10 year anniversary and enjoying it just as much as we did when we were newlyweds.

Tourist Attractions in Pennsylvania #6:

Intercourse, PA is a sweet little country town with a strong Amish influence. It’s a nice town where people live the simple life. Had the town fathers suspected that the town sign would be stolen on a regular basis they probably would have picked another name. Maybe the same town fathers named the near-by towns of Bird-in-Hand and Paradise. Funny name or not, Intercourse is a lovely town to visit.

Quaint shops, great restaurants, homey B&B’s and fine people are what you’ll see walking the streets. Just another picturesque American village. Things to do in Intercourse include taking a buggy ride, touring a pretzel factory and visiting a quilt museum.
