Things to do in Utah - Located in the stunning Rocky Mountains, Utah is a state which boasts a number of beautiful and exciting tourist attractions. Visitors find that the “Beehive State” is filled with exciting places to visit and things to see. Here are five reasons to put Utah at the top of your list of vacation ideas. 

Things to do in Utah #1:
Skiing: If Utah is famous for one thing, it's probably skiing. The state proclaims it has “the greatest snow on Earth.” Utah's position high in the Rocky Mountains makes it the perfect place for snow sports. Every year, millions of skiers and snowboarders ride the slopes of Utah's fourteen ski resorts.

If you visit in the summer, you'll miss out on the great skiing. However, the ski resorts can still be good places to visit. A summer ski resort can be a great place wander and see the beautiful mountains and large fields of wildflowers. Also, some ski resorts offer mountain biking or cultural activities during the summer.

Things to do in Utah #2:
See the Arches: Located in southern Utah, Arches National Park features the world's largest collection of naturally formed stone arches. These beautiful sandstone formations were carved over time by wind and water, and they have an unusual but beautiful appearance. Delicate Arch is the best-known arch in the park. However, this gorgeous and unique National Park is home to more than two thousand other arches. Tourists may recognize some of scenery from movies like Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and The Hulk, which feature segments filmed at Arches.

Things to do in Utah #3:
Explore Bryce Canyon: Bryce Canyon National Park is home to some of the most strikingly unusual rock formation in the state. Also located in southern Utah, Bryce Canyon was formed by unusual erosive processes. This resulted in strange pinnacles of limestone rock that stand up to 200 feet tall. These pinnacles, called “hoodoos,” display a number of different colors, due to the different rock strata that they display.

Bryce Canyon is located about 90 miles from Cedar City. Tours of the National Park are available by plane, ATV, foot, mountain bike and horse.

Things to do in Utah #4:
Visit Zion National Park: Zion National Park is another beautiful place which fully exhibits the otherworldly beauty of southern Utah. It is a favorite among hikers, but there are parts of its that can be experienced through scenic drives. Nearly three million visitors come to Zion every year, making it the most popular of Utah's National Parks.

Visitors can camp, explore cliffs and slot canyons, and go horseback riding. Tourists who are interested in the history, geology, and biology of the area can view films at the Zion Canyon IMAX. Rock climbing enthusiasts will also find a lot to get excited about, as it has a number of very popular scalable walls.

Utah Vacation Ideas #5:
Temple Square: Located in Salt Lake City, Temple Square is one of Utah's very most popular tourist sites. According to ForbesTraveler.com, around five million tourists visit Temple Square every year, making it the 16th most popular tourist site in the entire United States. Temple Square is open for visitors every day of the year, and guided tours are available from 9 am to 9 pm.

Visitors can see the beautiful Salt Lake Temple, which was built by Mormon pioneers over the course of 40 years. Although entry into the temple is limited to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, tourists of all religions are free to walk the grounds and admire the building's beautiful exterior.
