Things To Do In Canada #1:
By Lisa from Fredericton, NB - I love to visit downtown Toronto. It is a bustling city with cosmopolitan views, many things to do and a lovely energy. First of all, you absolutely must stay downtown. Choose a hotel like the Royal York or the Delta Chelsea. They are in the middle of the energy and are usually reasonably prices, especially in the shoulder season.

Also, part of the energy is walking on Yonge Street, from Gould to the lakeshore, and these hotels allow it. On the walk, you will find shopping like the Eaton Centre and many small shops as well as national chains which have a store downtown.

Make sure you see some of the main sights. The CN Tower is a must, as is the lakeshore, the Rogers Centre and the Air Canada Centre. Maybe there is a sporting event that you will enjoy.

Be sure to have a ride on the charming streetcars, or the efficient transit buses and underground. No need to take your car to downtown Toronto- just a pair of sneakers, a Toronto CityPass, a TTC transit pass and your camera.

By Sonya from Indiana - My favorite place to vacation is the West Coast of Canada, Vancouver Island. Ever since I was a small child, fond memories of my grandfather’s house on the beach have made this my favorite vacation spot. There was fresh seafood, clams dug up with your own two hands on the beach, steamed and served with fresh butter.

Leading up to his house there was a patch of blackberry bushes that we could harvest and enjoy with fresh cream. The smell of my grandpa’s vanilla tobacco in his den always brings back memories of this place and my swing set in the backyard.

Vancouver Island offers exceptional moderate climate year round and a wide variety of recreational activities. Backpacking, canoeing, horseback riding, skiing and fishing are just a few. Restaurants will always have access to fresh local fare, making dining exceptional on Vancouver Island. Vancouver Island is also a premier spot for whale watching. No matter what your interest, Vancouver Island has it. From an exceptional night life to excellent outdoor recreational activities you can count on a great vacation and making some great memories on Vancouver Island.

Things To Do In Canada #3:
By Liz from Banff - There is truly no greater place to be than Banff, Alberta Canada. When the sun sets in this small national park town the mountains come to life making the city below glow in the warmth of the days rays. From your balcony at any one of the number of hotels that dot main street you can see the beauty that surrounds this majestic yet quaint space. There is not a thing you can't do in this town whether you are an adventure enthusiast, an avid shopper, or a family of five. There is river rafting, skiing, shopping, hot springs, hikes, bike rentals, lakes, mountain climbing and just about anything you could think of.

Just a a short 40 minute drive from Calgary Alberta, getting here is easy, but the memory of being here will be everlasting. Being in Banff means to take yourself back when things were just a little bit simpler, when the days where filled with a little bit more adventure, and when at the end of the day there is nothing more beautiful than the sight of white snowflakes falling under the soft hue of lamplight.

By Jason from Chicago - For things to do in Canada, I suggest a visit to St. John’s, Newfoundland. I began my trip by flying into St. John’s Airport, where I took a cab to the Delta Hotel in downtown St. John’s. The view overlooking the bay was magnificent, and I spent what little free time I had looking at the fog rolling in through the Narrows (the entry way to the harbor).

My first tourist attraction was Signal Hill, where Marconi received the first transatlantic wireless message. The tower on Signal Hill looks like the top portion of an old British castle, and you are encouraged to walk around inside of it. By the time we got down from the Hill it was nearly dark, and we decided it was time to discover the famous Newfie night life on George St. George St. is a street in the core of St. John’s where every building is a pub and the roads are paved in cobblestone.

In the first pub, a bunch of Newfies asked where I was from, and as soon as they realized I was a tourist they had me screeched in. Now, being “screeched in” is where they give you really bad rum and make you kiss a cod fish on the mouth. Let’s just say my Facebook photo got a lot of comments! Though they put me through a screeching in, these Newfies were some of the kindest and best drinking buddies I have ever met.
