Henderson Beach State Park is an excellent camping vacation idea for Destin, Florida with 60 camping sites located in the dunes. Camping here at the park can be lots of fun for the kids and a good way to cut down on the vacation budget.

Within a few miles of the park you will find many vacation activities available such as backpack overnight trails, horseback riding and trails, mountain biking, miniature golf, bicycle rentals and lots more.

You will find at least ten golf courses to choose from in Destin and with the tropical weather here, you can play the courses year-round.

There’s the Links Course and the Baytowne Course, both designed by Tom Jackson; the Burnt Pine Course, designed by Ree Jones; Raven Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones.

Destin Harbor is a playground for many bottlenose dolphins. Bayside Watersports, on Okaloosa Island, will take you dolphin watching on the bay with a guided waverunner excursion. This is definitely a great vacation idea for families.

There’s the Honolulu Half-Pipe which uses 36,000 gallons of water to create a constant wave for surfing and bodyboarding. Bombs Away Bay is a fantasy water world with a pirate ship, slides, pools and waterfalls.

Go nuts with Big Kahuna's miniature golf. Tropical Mini Golf has three course with a total 54 holes all designed to challenge and entertain. On the adventurous side there’s the Sky Coaster that will take you swooping through the air 100 feet off the ground at 60 miles per hour.

Choctawhatchee Bay and its bayous is great for catching Speckled Sea Trout, White Trout, Channel Bass, Red fish, Bluefish as well as blue crabs along the shore. Catch a fishing charter boat for deep sea bottom fishing and offshore trolling.
