1001 Vacation Ideas Home
Got spring fever? Spring family vacations are the cure. Here are some vacation ideas to get the family up and out of the house. At the Corning Museum of Glass you can watch glass being made. The Hot Glass Show is a fascinating experience. You will see glass-blowing performed right in front of you as works of art come to life. There are also many glass exhibits showing glass displaying from over a 3,500 year span. You can actually try it yourself and make a glass flower or ad a frosted design to a drinking glass.

March and April are maple season in Vermont. The whole state is dripping in maple syrup as the sap begins to flow and the buckets are put in place to catch it. Your spring family vacations to Vermont should include a trip to an operating maple sugar shack. The City of St. Albans is the home of the annual Vermont Maple Festival.

Try the local "sweet and sour" favorites: maple syrup followed by a bite of pickle, fresh warm maple syrup over ice cream, maple syrup on cider donuts. When you leave you can take home a gallon of syrup. Skiing in spring? You bet. Timberline Ski Resort, in Oregon, has a 345 day season.

At Arapahoe Basin you can ski until June 30. Mammoth Mountain, California, is legendary for excellent spring skiing. Spring family vacations begin in April where you can see dolphins up close on a kayak tour off the coats of Virginia. Tidewater Adventures offers this popular Dolphin Tour.

If kayaking into the surf and seeing dolphins play and jump within paddle reach is your idea of fun then this spring vacation ideas is for you. Spring is cherry blossom time for the 6,000 cherry trees around Washington Monument in Washington D.C.

They were a gift from the citizens of Tokyo in 1912 and this beautiful spectacle of spring is the inspiration for the annual Cherry Blossom Festival. Hundreds of thousands of visitors travel to Washington each year to admire the blossoming cherry trees and celebrate the coming of spring.

Got a passion for automobiles? You can see the most outlandish vehicles around at Houston’s Art Car Weeken at the end of April. Hundreds of car artists from across the country bring their creations to the art car parade and show off to over 250,000 people.

See cars with names such as The Flutterbug, The Plaidmobile, The Fruitmobile. Every year they get more outrageous and fun. If your idea of spring family vacations include shopping then try New Mexico’s Traditions!. It’s open year round but it makes a great spring vacation idea.

Over 1,000 artisans bring together Native American, Spanish, Mexican and Western arts, crafts, food, clothing, jewelry and more. For the kid's, KidCity features a kid's General Store and themed party rooms, a New Mexico State Fair style arcade, Unique Legends of New Mexico story telling corner, and an old fashioned dress-up photo studio.

By Brandon from Orange City, Florida - For a spring family vacation, we love to go to Orange City, Florida. The weather is great in the spring before the really hot Florida temperatures hit in summer. Orange City is a hopping community that offers families, individuals, and couples several different options to fill in their itinerary.

Located five minutes from the heart of Orange City is Blue Springs State Park. This park is home to a hot spring that keeps the water at a comfortable seventy-five degrees all year long! The best part however, is the fact that manatees will make their way into the warm water and appear in groups all the time.

The opposite way from Blue Springs Park is the Sanford Park Zoo (Central Florida Zoo). This zoo is filled with vivd and colorful animals as well as exotic specimens that anybody can appreciate.

Finally, the town is surrounded by high class and family dining that will keep bringing you back for me. These restaurants I speak of include Sonny's BBQ Pit, Outback Steakhouse, Steak and Shake, Denny's, Chili's, Applebee's, Texas Roadhouse, Swamp Fox, Perkins, and several others. The list in Orange City is unlimited, as well as the fun you and your loved ones will have vacationing in the great town.
