Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort is in the northern Berkshires and features 3 terrain parks with forty-four trails. They have largest ski and snowboard resort in Southern New England including the only high-speed six passenger chairlift in the region. Their Mountain Adventure Park features the only Mountain Coaster on the east coast and it operates all year round. New England Country Inn is conveniently located at the base of Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort.
Canterbury Farm Ski Touring is Berkshires skiing in a wilderness farm setting. Located in Becket Mass, Canterbury has about 13 miles of ski trails that don’t just send you down the side of a mountain. Instead they meander through the countryside woods past beautiful brooks, beaver ponds, stone walls, lakes, fields and mountains. They have trails for snowshoeing, a farm pond for ice skating and a National Skating Professional Champion to provide skating lessons.
Catamount Ski & Ride Area is located on the Massachusetts / New York state line near South Egremont , Massachusetts. It’s one of the longest running ski areas in the Northeast. This is a large operation and their Catapult, is the steepest run in the Berkshires along with a mile-long beginner’s run, Upper Promenade. They have snow making machines that can keep 98% of their ski terrain covered. Their new Summit Quad Chair Lift was designed to easily accommodate families.
Notchview Reservation is designed for snowboarding and cross-country skiing in the Berkshires. This ski resort is located in Windsor, Mass, high up at an elevation of 2,297 feet where they can receive an extra 45 inches of snow during a season. This allows them to offer skiing into mid-March. They hold events such as Moonlight Skiing, Berkshire Trails Nordic Race Series, Women’s Nordic Ski Clinics and the Bread n’Jam Ski Race. Along the trail, there are two alpine-style warming huts that offer skiers a chance to relax and warm up.
Pineridge Cross Country Ski is in Petersburgh, New York at the intersection of Mass and Vermont. Here you can ski through hundreds of acres of woods that are home to deer, fox, turkey, beaver and otter. The trails run along the picturesque Poestenkill Creek. Others are high up in the Taconic and Berkshire Mountains. They even have two and a half miles of lighted trails for night time skiing.
Cranwell Resort, Spa and Golf Club is one of the more luxurious spots for skiing in the Berkshires. They have one of the largest spas around, 35,000 square-feet, and pride themselves on fine dining and amenities. They have six miles of scenic trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Besides the skiing there is a state-of-the-art Fitness Center and glass-enclosed indoor heated pool.
