It’s about 87 miles long and has some excellent spots for canoeing and rafting that are safe for kids and inexperienced rafters. New Braunfels, Texas sits along the Guadalupe River. Its’the home of Rockin 'R' River Rides where you can camp and take off on a Guadalupe River rafting trip. They specialize in "toobing" and can set you up for whatever you need to get going. Twelve miles west of New Braunfels is River Sports Tubes. They have a great location on the river’s famous "Horseshoe Loop" that makes it easy to get in, have some rafting fun and then get out for a shuttle back. A rafting trip on the Rio Grande will take you through some incredible wilderness landscapes including the wild and beautiful San Francisco canyon, Regan Canyon, Panther Canyon and Big Bend National Park. Sections on the Rio Grande are quite peaceful and make great rafting vacation spots for a quiet relaxing family outing. Other stretches, such as the Colorado Canyon, In Santa Elena Canyon and Rockslide Rapid provide more thrilling, but still moderate, rafting adventure fun. Bill Dvorak Rafting and Kayak Expedition knows the Rio Grande River well and has some great Rio Grande rafting trips that offer word class guides and an emphasis on safety. Because it is spring fed, the river stays a constant 72 degrees all year round providing a refreshing respite from the Texas heat. The water is crystal clear, slow and easy which makes it great for family tubing and swimming. Texas Tubes is located right on the Comal River. They can rent you your tubes and have you right into the water for a fun Texas river rafting experience. This scenic park is one of the least visited of the national parks but well worth visiting. Besides the river rafting trips, Big Bend River Tours also has guided hikes and backroads tours that explore the many creeks, trails, old homesteads, Indian camps and waterfalls that are in the area. Their trips can be as short as half a day or as long as 21 days. They have professional guides and you don’t need to have any experience to enjoy rafting in the Big Bend with Big Bend River Tours Return from River Rafting In Texas to Midwest Vacation Spots |
