There is second tour called "The Behind the Scenes Walking Tour". On this tour you enter private VIP areas of the Downs and receive a close-up look at the Press Box, Millionaires Row, the Jockey’s Quarters and other parts of the recently renovated clubhouse. A third tour called "Barn and Backside Van Tour" is also available. This is an opportunity to see "the other side" which are parts of Churchill Downs that are closed to the public. On this tour you see the race horses where they live and in training. These thoroughbreds can value in the multi-millions. The cultural center’s exhibits concentrate on Muhammad Ali’s philosophy of life including conviction, respect, confidence, charity, dedication, and spirituality. The beginning of your tour involves a theater presentation of Ali’s life from birth to the present. You will also see a life size boxing ring which is a copy of the ring that he used for his training at his Deer Lake Training. A large pavilion is filled with Ali‘s boxing memorabilia and history as well as his greatest fight, "The Greatest", projected on a large screen. The building itself is used for many purposes. It can handle a large conference as easily as a small meeting. Some of its typical uses are awards dinners, receptions, corporate meetings and birthday parties. Somehow the sect did not last until present times but their furniture was good enough to be very popular today. With thirty four beautifully restored buildings, the Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill in Harrodsburg is the largest restored Shaker community in the US. These buildings sit on 3,000 acres of farmland framed by 25 miles of eye-catching rock fences. This group of old Shaker buildings has become a tourist attraction because they are filled with a plethora of fine Shaker furniture. The beauty and tranquility of the community further enhances the village as a tourist stop. The village is best enjoyed by taking a self-guided walking and watching the skilled artisans working on the hand-crafted furniture. Some of Kentucky’s white water diamonds are the Gauley, the Youghiogheny and the Russell Fork, which has recently been upgraded to a class IV-V kayak run. The periodic releases of the Flanagan Reservoir greatly enhance the action along the Russell Fork. When the fall season begins Elkhorn City becomes the center of whitewater action. They host several special events beginning with the "Russell Fork Free for All" where the competition is open to "anything that floats". Not all of the action is whitewater. There are many super streams in eastern and central Kentucky just right for paddling. These include the Big South Fork, the Rockcastle and the Red River. A wealth of cave information is contained in the many exhibits. hese exhibits include: Prehistoric Cave Explorers, Modern Cave Exploration, a Photo Gallery of American Caves, Bats; Fact or Fiction and many more. Interactive computer exhibits allow visitors to make decisions about cave related situations and score points based on good decisions. One of the exhibits tells all about Floyd Collins, who was a pioneer cave explorer. With the Hidden River Cave Adventure Tour you will be guided by experienced guides on an exploration of an underground stream and viewing the evidence of thousand of years of cave formation. The tour is designed to show you the natural cave setting and learn about cave ecology, cave conservation, dome rooms and more.
