Places to Visit in Arizona #1:
Just a few miles east of Phoenix, Arizona is the bustling town of Mesa which some people consider to be the gateway to Superstition Mountains. Mesa is also the home of the Natural History Museum of the Southwest. This museum has interesting exhibits ranging from ancient Indian civilizations to dinosaurs, plus a Hands-on Adventure Center. You can see a life size model of a prehistoric cave where early tribes of Indians lived.

The exhibits are mostly interactive and work great for any age visitor. Yes, a stop at Mesa is a good idea for your next Arizona vacation.

Places to Visit in Arizona #2:
The Southeastern Arizona Bird Observatory in Bisbee, Arizona offers guided bird walks, tours, and educational workshops related to the birds of the southeastern Arizona area. The observatory focuses on studying the local bird populations and learning about their habitats. They are a non-profit organization and they work cooperatively with local, State and Government organizations with similar interests.

Some of their studies include hummingbird migration on the San Pedro River and the observing of migrating, breeding, and wintering of birds of the southeastern Arizona. They are also involved, with others, in developing the Southeastern Arizona Birding Trail which now includes 50 of the best birding sites in the area.

By Jay from Michigan - My most recent successful vacation was taken to Surprise, Arizona. The weather there was wonderful, as it usually is and the tone was set by our hotel, the Extended Stay Ramada.

The Ramada was only four months old with spacious and comfortable rooms, a large gas grill for guest use, and a huge complimentary breakfast complete with eggs and fresh waffles to start your morning. This hotel was only 10 miles from the World Wildlife Zoo which is a great family zoo that allowed my family to spend time feeding goats, turtles, giraffes, and parrots.

We had gone to the Phoenix Zoo on a past trip but found this slightly costlier zoo more interactive with animals up and moving even in the 108 degree heat. After a nice trip to the zoo we decided to go to Castles and Coasters a local amusement/water park that provided evening fun for the entire family.

Perhaps the best part of the trip for me was the unplanned part. Our hotel was a quarter mile from Surprise Stadium, the spring training field for the Royals and Rangers. This field is also used to house the two aforementioned teams Rookie league teams.

A short walk to the stadium provided a unique baseball experience allowing us to literally sit next to the players and watch the game. Between the hotel and many family experiences this vacation was both relaxing and fun.

By Jessica from Phoenix, AZ - Most people find it unusual when I say that my favorite vacation in the world requires approximately 20 miles of backpacking to actually get there. Call me weird, I guess; I'm one of "those" people. You know, the ones that think camping on the ground or dangling from a rope 75 feet off the ground is "fun."

So I guess that it's no surprise that Havasupai, AZ is my getaway of choice when considering a trip. Located an hour or two outside of Flagstaff, AZ, the Grand Canyon is a phenomenal wonder in itself. However, the dirt trail leading down to Havasupai opens the adventurist up to a world inside another, one that both tells a story and allows for escape.

Once the camper enters the Havasu campground, 10 or so miles down the Grand Canyon, the thundering of water can be heard over the millions of birds and other insects that reside here. After the last hill, one encounters the first natural attraction; Havasu Falls, a stunning cascade of water that plunges 80 feet into a huge pool of blue.

As the camper wanders through the wilderness here, they will come across other natural fascinations as well. Navajo Falls, Mooney Falls (the tallest falls in Arizona), and plentiful wildlife beckon any risk taker into a backpacker's paradise.

Places to Visit in Arizona #5:
The Southern Institute for Culture & Art in Bisbee, Arizona is dedicated to preserving the unique cultural heritage of SE Arizona and the Sonoran area.

With that in mind, the Institute serves the community with workshops, classes, tours and many community events. These events comprise an art museum, annual festivals and a bird watching garden. The classes include Arizona’s early history, local arts education for kids, and Artist -in-residence studios.

Bisbee was initially a mining town. However, today, it’s more of an art colony and a retirement center. Southern Institute continues to do its part in honoring that rich history of the town and could be a nice addition to your Arizona vacation plans.
