One of our best vacation ideas was a trip to Disney

One of our best vacation ideas was a trip to Disney with our young son and my husband's parents. Our son was three at the time and many people said that we were crazy for going to Disney with a child that could not remember it, but we couldn't wait to go ourselves!

I cannot stress how much having grandparents along for a trip to see the mouse helps, especially with a child so young. We stayed on property at the Fort Wilderness Cabins, which turned out to be ideal.

Not only were we all able to stay in one cabin, thus sharing the considerable lodging expense, but as a Disney World resort guest we were also able to take advantage of free transportation to the parks.

We did have a rental car so for the most part we found it easier to drive, but there were definitely times when driving was not going to be easy at all. In those instances hopping on a bus was a breeze.

Coming from Washington State, flying to Orlando takes the better part of a day so we decided to make the trip worth it and stayed for eight nights. This gave us seven full days to tour the theme parks at our leisure.

By Sasha from Washington - Everyone likes to vacation - there's no doubt about that. However, it's not surprising to find many people have a particular location that they prefer to visit. For me, that place is Disneyland.

That name elicits different extreme examples in people – that of disgust, or that of pure joy. I don’t care what other people think. Disneyland holds a special place in my heart.

It’s a place my mother and I have gone together for years, just the two of us. It is truly a magical vacation place. The cast members, as they are called, are always friendly. It’s always clean. The rides may not be as thrilling as roller coasters, but they are thrilling in their own way.

To be honest, Disneyland feels like home to me and my mother. When I first step into the park, happy tears pour down my face. I have never been somewhere else that has made me feel that way. Disneyland always had a place for me, and always will.
