Vacation Ideas

Nude Beaches in California #1:
One of the most popular nude beaches in the country is Baker Beach in San Francisco. The beach starts at the Golden Gate Bridge and runs for a mile and a half down the San Francisco shoreline. The northern area of the beach is where the nude activities happen. Besides the option of shedding your clothes and swimsuits, Baker Beach is known for the spectacular views of the famous bridge and the Marin County coastline.

The beach is also famous for being an excellent spot for viewing dolphins and seals. There’s a nice picnic area with bbq grills and the beach is great for volleyball.

Low tide offers opportunities for tide pooling explorations and photos. The water is typically too cold for many people but many visitors go in a swim. Don’t expect to do any surfing though because the waves are just too small. Baker Beach is a dog friendly beach.

Nude Beaches in California #2:
One of the most popular nude beaches along the California coast is Red Rock Beach in Marin County. The beach is located in a small cove inside Mt. Tamalpais State Park. Red Rock Beach is known for being very friendly and family oriented so it often gets crowded.

It’s not really a swimming beach but sunbathing and frolicking on the sand in the buff is enough to draw hundreds of people on a warm summer day. Frisbee is popular as is climbing on the many boulders.

Be aware, getting to the beach from the parking lot requires a bit of a hike, maybe 15 minutes. Also the nearest restrooms are a mile and a half away at Stinson Beach.

Nude Beaches in California #3:
Gaviota State Park has two clothing optional beaches – San Onofre Beach and Vista Del Mar Beach. The park is located about 30 miles north of Santa Barbara. Gaviota State Park has camping and RV facilities and there is a lot to do in the park like hiking, fishing and scuba diving.

You can hike to the Gaviota Hot Springs where you can take a dip in the body temperature spring waters. You should be aware that the beaches have experienced some nudity law enforcement issues in the past so you should become familiar with the prevailing conditions when partaking in naturist beach activities.

Nude Beaches in California #4:
Just north of San Francisco, in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, are three fairly remote beaches that are popular with the beach going nudists. These are Kirby Cove, Bonita Cove and Rodeo Beach.

Removing your clothes is not strictly legal but the park officials typically don’t bother people as long as there are no complaints. This area is the Marin Headlands and besides the nude beaches, it offers some incredible coastal views. These can be enjoyed from the beaches and the many excellent hiking trails.

The trails are also popular for horseback riding. Camping is available here. In fact, the Golden Gate National Recreation Area here is actually the biggest urban park you will find anywhere in the world.

Nude Beaches in California #5:
Nicholas County Canyon Beach is a very popular spot among the many beaches in Malibu, California. It has long been a beach where naturalists choose to drop the swim suits and enjoy the sun and water naked. Like other similar California beaches, this is not strictly legal but the practice goes on anyways.

Nicholas County Canyon Beach is one of the better known California nude beaches. It is also a top vacation idea for anyone looking to enjoy the world famous California surfing experience. There are both rocky and sandy areas of the beach that covers almost 2 miles of the Malibu coastline.

Nude Beaches in California #6:
Four Mile Beach is a popular California nude beach located Wilder Ranch State Park. It’s one of 6 beaches within this Santa Cruz CA park. The Wilder Ranch State Park was a private ranch until the 1990s. There are hiking trails to explore the beautiful countryside. One of the best is the Ohlone Bluff Trail which runs along the shore for two and a half majestic miles. Four Mile Beach is off Route 1about four miles from the center of Santa Cruz. Besides the nudist set, the beach is best known for its prolific seaweed and the excellent surfing.
