Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge is a bird sanctuary located near Atlantic City. It's a great place to see some wildlife including peregrin falcons, bald eagles, and osprey. Access is tightly controlled.
There is an 8-mile long loop for a driving tour and several short nature trails. Other activities are hunting of waterfowl and white-tailed deer, fresh and saltwater fishing, and shellfishing - crabbing and clamming.

Leaming's Run Garden and Colonial Farm in Cape May County, is 30 acres of flowers, ferns, lawns and ponds. Considered one of the top gardens in the East, there are 25 different themed gardens with winding paths connecting them all. The small on-site farm grows crops of cotton and tobacco and has exhibits that showcase the life of the 18th century whaling community that thrived here.

The New Sweden Farmstead in the Delaware Valley reflects Swedish/Finnish life as it was in the 17th century. It is an authentic recreation of a farmstead typical of the Swedish settlers who settled in this area in 1638.
The New Sweden Farmstead is located in Bridgeton City Park. Vacation visitors can see exact replica log structures of a blacksmith shop, storehouse, threshing barn, stable, residence, barn with outhouse, suana and a smokehouse.

Hidden Valley Resort, in Vernon is a nice family ski resort nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian mountain range. Situated only 47 Miles from New York City it’s convenient yet not overcrowded.
They make their own snow all season and their Dragon's Pit tubing park has a 600 foot tubing snow chute.
During the summer it’s a great spot for a family picnic and barbeque. There is also another Hidden Valley Resort in Pennsylvania.

In the 19th century Waterloo was an inland port thanks to it's location on the Morris Canal. Today the town is restored as a living example of that past time.
