There are some 35 miles of trails winding through the woods and along the swamps and ponds. It's a great place for hiking, biking and horseback riding as well as bird watching. Beaver Brook offers themed nature walks and nature appreciation hikes. During the winter, the trails and grounds are good for skiing and snowshoeing. There are 12 theme gardens maintained by volunteers and open for the public to enjoy. Throughout the year there are various workshops, lectures and special events held.

There are 1,200 miles of trails that wind through the rugged mountain peaks and rolling hills of this huge recreational area. Or if you are not so adventurous but still like to enjoy the outdoor views, take a road trip through the area. The White Mountain National Forest really shows off the beautiful landscape that New Hampshire is famous for. This is a perfect spot to take a camping vacation. There are some excellent family-oriented campsites. Or head more into the wilderness and use some of the backcountry campsites.
