There are also some great attractions for the younger kids. At the end of the summer there is a mirror image festival in Myrtle Beach which is called Beach Boogie Barbeque. This festival is held in early September and the attractions for both are quite similar.

Some of the interesting activities for the younger family members include Carousel Park with Kiddie Rides, the Paddle Boats and MagiQuest where a magic wand takes you into a make-believe world. For everyone in the family there is a plethora of top-notch entertaining things to do.

Some of these include a Walking Water Ball, Ripley’s Aquarium, an IMAX 3D Theatre and NASCAR Speed Park. Added to this list is South Carolina’s largest Water Park, a Medieval Golf Course, Carmike’s Broadway Cinema for Movie Buffs as well as soaring through the air on a zip line.

They have the largest Ferris-wheel in South Carolina and it provides some great ocean views at its top point. The wooden roller coaster gives you the jiggle and jerk kind of ride that roller coasters were invented for. Of course, you will just have to try the 110 foot drop in the Slingshot Drop Zone.

With a total of 30 different rides you’re sure to find your favorite. For a change of pace, you can walk across the street to the Family Kingdom’s oceanfront water park. What better way is there to close out a fun-filled day?

The Carriage Room Opening Act is a winner and it sets the standard high for the rest of the show. This is followed by the Dixie Stampede which is followed by a magnificent multi-course meal which is more like a feast.

One thing is for sure; you never can guess what comes next. Be it a juggler, a singer or you-yourself being on stage, it’s all one marvelous party. One thing you should be told ahead of time. The stampede is a real stampede with cattle and cowboys on horseback.

My favorite place to stay is the Island Vista Resort. It is located on a quiet, less touristy section of the beach and it offers suite-style rooms. The rooms are beautiful and recently redone. It also has a beautiful pool and lazy river and the property is well maintained.

There are also many great restaurants in the area with many different price points. Every time I go to Myrtle Beach, I am sure to eat at California Dreaming. At a relatively reasonable price, they offer delicious American fare, including burgers, steaks, fish and many other options.

They also have delicious croissants that are to die for. In terms of entertainment, the Myrtle Beach area is full of it. For shopping, there are the Tanger Outlets (two locations), Barefoot Landing, Broadway at the Beach, and several malls.

All of these places also offer a variety of restaurants. Broadway at the Beach is one of the best places to go because it offers the widest variety of restaurants, including a Hard Rock Cafe and a Margaritaville, as well as entertainment, like miniature golf and the Ripley’s Aquarium. There are also many dinner shows, like Medieval Times and Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede.

Additionally, there are countless mini golf courses with interesting and elaborate themes and the Nascar Raceway, which offers several different tracks with go karts. I absolutely love vacationing in Myrtle Beach and I think that absolutely anyone could turn a Myrtle Beach vacation into a fabulous time.
