But once we got to Holiday World, all of the dials were turned up to 11. We got there just after the park had opened, so there were (relatively) few crowds to maneuver through. The Holiday World theme park was separated into two separate parts, one being the water attractions, the other being the dry ones. We first hit a couple of the roller coasters, some of other rides like the bumper cars, then, being the middle of summer, we hit the water park. There were some swimming pools, including a wave pool, tons of water slides, some of which were several stories tall, and a few rides. After we had our fun there, we went around and went through some more of the other rides you would expect to find in an amusement park, including one of the largest roller coasters I've ever been on. It wasn't flipping us upside down every two seconds like at Six Flags, but the length, the near-vertical drops, the sharp turns, and the suspense of going through it at night all made up for it. And did I mention the free unlimited sodas? They have shacks all over the park filled with nothing but soda fountains. Anyone and everyone in the park could just walk in and take whatever they wanted. Considering the fact that it was the middle of summer, this rocked. They also had a number of stores and restaurants located throughout the park. Though I hadn't heard of many of the restaurants they had, the ones I ate at were well priced considering the quality of food they provided. Ya, I payed like I expected to at an amusement park, but it was worth it. Ultimately, the money for the tickets to Holiday World was worth it. They take care of you much better than chain parks like Six Flags, and they offer a lot of traditional fun mixed with some newer stuff. I can see why Holiday World is one of the top Indiana tourist attractions. Some parts of the park did remind me of Six Flags, while others struck me as to what an old-fashioned carnival would have been like. Overall, it was a fun experience that time isn't going to fade away very quickly. So if you are looking for vacation ideas with Indiana tourist attractions, I suggest Holiday World at Santa Claus, Indiana.
