Hot Travel Destinations #1:
By Sarah from Minnesota - One of the best vacations I ever took was a trip to Colorado. I truly enjoyed it. It has gone down as one of the best family vacations we ever took together. There were so many highlights to the trip that it's hard to find just one or two. The scenery was breathtakingly beautiful. We went in the summer, which was perfect for our family. Being from Minnesota, we weren't interested in traveling somewhere to do winter activities, so visiting Colorado in the summer was great.

We went white water rafting, horse-back riding in the mountains, swimming, hiking, and a variety of other fun outdoors activities. I can't pick one particular thing that was the highlight, as every activity we did was a lot of fun and was accented by the beautiful mountain view surrounding us.

I would highly recommend a similar vacation to anyone, and I hope that I can plan a return trip to Colorado sometime in the near future. In my opinion Colorado is definitely one of the hot travel destinations to choose.

By By Kam Pearson from Alabama - Among my favorite hot travel destinations! I am not a world traveler by any means. There are many places that I have not been, but there are a few places that I have been.

A few years ago I was lucky enough to get to travel to the Bahamas, which was an absolutely magical experience for me. I would definitely say to anyone who might have the opportunity to go, do not pass it up!

It will not be something you will soon forget. Everywhere you turn your head is on beautiful view after another. The water is so clear and blue, that it actually hurts your eyes.

The people and culture there are wonderful! The towns are full of charming little ice cream colored houses and the food is wonderful! Not to mention the average year round temperature is seventy two degrees! I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t say that that sounds great! Especially with the frigid January weather looming at the corners!

By Taryn from Colorado - My most memorable vacation was a cruise to Alaska that I took with my father. I had no idea how beautiful it was going to be! We went in late June, early July and the weather was beautiful: mid to upper 60's everyday!

I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a fun family vacation or a romantic getaway. Unlike a Caribbean cruise, where you see only water while traveling to the port cities, the Alaskan cruise is filled with scenery!

The mountains come up right from the ocean; it's the most beautiful thing. The ship also passed by the Sawyer Glacier, which was incredible! The one regret we have is not splurging for the balcony room, because there is so much to see! We opted for Norwegian Cruise line, which was great, because it was very laid back and let you go at your own pace.

There were no clocks in the rooms, so you woke up whenever you wanted, the food is included in the price (all you can eat!). There are great kids programs where the kids can meet other children their age while the adults can be alone.

The ships have pools and hot tubs on deck along with bars (for the adults) and ice cream! There were also shows each night: comedy, musicals, concerts, etc. There were many activities to choose from while on board the ship that anyone will be able to find something to enjoy. In the port cities, there were a lot of things to choose from.

You can schedule excursions with the cruise line ahead of time or you can just hang out in the city and shop/sight-see. Some of our excursions included kayaking, a tour on a pedicab and whale watching. Others to choose from included helicopter rides, dog sledding, etc. The excursions were a great way to see all that the city had to offer in a short amount of time.

This vacation idea is an unique experience and well worth it! It is perfect for all ages and family sizes. The cruise experience is great in and of itself, because you get to visit many different places without hauling luggage around and getting lost.

By Rick from Erie Pa - Snorkeling and Fishing in Key Largo - The best vacation I've ever taken was a two-day trip that was only a few hours from my house. At the time, we lived in South-Central Florida and we decided to take a last-minute trip to Key Largo. After checking into the cheapest hotel we could find, we decided to see what Key Largo had to offer.

What we found was good food, hospitable people and great water all around. We avoided the tourist trap bars and restaurants and stuck with the smaller, more local approved joints and we weren't disappointed at all. The service was exemplary and the people in each establishment were more than happy to share their expertise.

As for the water, we went on two snorkeling adventures while we were there and found the most colorful coral within the clearest water I've ever seen. The fish were plentiful and the stress was minimal as the crew of the boat handled the trip professionally with a great deal of showmanship.

We've been back several times and while there's plenty to do on Key Largo, we always seem to do the same things. That we've never gotten tired of them says much about how great of a vacation destination Key Largo is.

By Stephanie from CO - One of my most memorable vacations was when I was 8 years old, my family took a drip to the The Great Sand Dunes National Park, in Mosca Colorado. It was a lot of fun trying to beat my brothers up the massive hills of sand, not to mention the fact that it wore us all out! Once you got to a suitable height, you could "ski" down the hill!

At the base of the dunes a river, Medano Creek, runs through the sand, making a great place for kids to play. You can re-rout the river make small puddles and just get dirty! There is also a variety of plants and animals to be seen in the park as well as ranger guided tours, as well as interactive exhibits.

We went late spring, and it was hot, so sunscreen and lots of water is a must! While we were there we learned about the Great Sand Dunes Tiger Beetle and other insects which can only be found here in this area. Something that I never forgot! Certainly one of my favorite places, I've been to, and am looking forward to bringing my son!
