Hawaiin Vacations Idea #3:Contributed by Trab - Last winter I decided to take a vacation with my girlfriend of two years. We did some research online and decided to go to Waikiki. Leaving the cold of Ohio we arrived in Hawaii and were greeted by 80 degree temperatures. The vacation was fantastic. Waikiki has everything a person could want from great food, all sorts of entertainment and one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. We went to Pearl Harbor and saw the Arizona Memorial which is something every American should accomplish. We hiked Diamondhead, snorkeled, swam with the dolphins, and went to the Dole plantation. The vacation was the best of my life. It had moments of romance encompassed in total fun. Everyone should go to Hawaii once in there lifetime, and when you do you can island hop by plan really cheap.

Hawaiin Vacations Idea #4:A family trip to the island of Oahu in Hawaii is a wonderful idea for what your family might think of as the best vacation of all. Oahu offers a tremendous diverse set of activities which are sure to please the entire family. First, there are the major hotels and shopping areas near world-famous Waikiki Beach, where your family can get surfing lessons from local instructors, go out sailing on a catamaran, snorkel, or simply relax near the crystal blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. Scrambling up to the peak of Diamond Head near the beach is another unforgettable opportunity.

If pure relaxation creates the ideal best vacation for your family, around Oahu are major hotel resorts that offer all-inclusive comfort for luxuriating in the soft breeze of the trade winds. Hawaiin Vacations Idea #5:Contributed by Pili, HawaiiThe Puna coast on the eastern side of the Big Island of Hawaii is lovely, yet it does not attract a lot of tourists. Most visitors to the Big Island go to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park or to the Kona coast instead. The Puna coastline does not have much in the way of sandy beaches, which may account for its relative obscurity. Most of the Puna coast is rugged lava rock and has dangerous undertows. It also takes a bit of extra effort to get to it.

The closest airport is Hilo, about 45 minutes away, which offers little if any direct service from the mainland USA; direct flights are routed to Kona or Honolulu instead. However, the Puna coast offers some beautiful scenic drives, such as along Hawaii State Highway 137, as well as a coastal picnic park for swimming that is fed by underground hot springs (Ahalanui Hot Pond), and plenty of hiking opportunities. Also, there are accommodations, shopping, and good eats in Hilo as well as in the local town of Pahoa. Enjoy!
