There are over 100 campsites at Green Valley that can be reserved online. The campsites include a fire-pit and several graded areas for setting up a tent. There are facilities also available for RV’s and campers.

The highlight of the campground is the falls at Green Valley. These natural waterfalls and water pools offer beautiful sights and much fun for the whole family. During the summer these falls and pools make for a great opportunity for water play and soaking up the sun.

There are many trails available for hiking and rock surfaces for rock climbing for all to enjoy. Green Valley is a fun place to visit for individuals and families alike. Great fun to be had at Green Valley!

We select restaurants to eat at along the way by using the Food Network website and Diners, Drive ins and Dives. While in Pittsburgh, we eat a Jerome Bettis' Grille 36 restaurant.

We see a Pittsburgh Steelers pre-season football game and a Pirates baseball game if they are in town. We make sure to visit the local Children's museum and amusement parks in the surrounding areas.

We also visit the team training camp for the Pittsburgh Steelers. We stay at a fantastic hotel downtown called the Marriott Penn Avenue. The hotel feels like a second home and the staff is incredible. The trip has become a fun family vacations for kids tradition that the kids look forward to on an annual basis.

We had our own BBQ area, which was great, and the outdoor living area could be completely sealed off so that the children could not get near the pool. The villa was about a 30 minute walk from Santa Ponsa, which meant it was in a residential area, meaning it was nice and quiet at night, giving us a chance to escape from the hustle and bustle of the hectic night life.

Our days were either packed full with trips to the water park Western Park, where they have a dive show that is to be seen to be believed. How they can dive from such heights into such a shallow looking pool is amazing!

We took trips into the beautiful Palma city, visiting the old City, where the buildings show the Arab influence of the past; the cathedral "La Seu", which was built on the site of a Mosque. And of course, the shopping is second to none. A trip to Mallorca would not be complete without a trip to the beach.

Halfway between where our villa was (near the Marina), and the centre of Santa Ponsa, there is a beach known locally as the "little beach".

This beach is small, and on a Sunday it can get quite crowded as local Spanish families use it. The water is shallow, and there is plenty of shade available from the trees. There is a little bar right beside it, which was very handy for getting snacks/water etc.

There is also a children's playground. If you like golf, Mallorca has great courses for all levels of golfers. Golf Mallorca lists several places to golf, and you can requests quotes to which is great for before you travel.

Scuba diving is also available on/around the island, as are boat trips – we took the trip from Deya to Valldemossa, and picturesque can't begin to describe the beauty of this area.

At night, we ventured into the heart of Santa Ponsa, stopping off at Meson d'el Mar (Avenida Rey Jaime I (on the road out to the Marina)) for a bite to eat. The views from this restaurant are second to none. As the sun goes down, you can eat your meal, and look out at the sun setting across the bay of Santa Ponsa.

The range of seafood is unbeatable, and they have something for everyone. They also do a Menu del Dia, and if I remember correctly it's about €8 or thereabouts for a starter/main/coffee/carafe of wine (available during the day).

Another restaurant is El Ciebo's – a south American grill, specializing in Argentinian meats. Another one I'd highly recommend, is Es Verger Lamb, Alvaro – a local restaurant specializing in lamb (roasted a specialty), and they serve local wines. The restaurant is high up a winding mountain trail. You need to travel from Alaro, and follow the signs for "Castillo".

Again, spectacular views across the island. We mainly went to Sean's Place and Durty Nelly's where we had some laughs – live music in both venues, what more could we ask for? All in all this was a fun family vacations for kids, with lots for everyone to do.
