Florida Vacation Spots #1:

St. Joseph Peninsula State Park is ideal for a Florida beach vacation.

Located south of Panama City, it has been rated the most beautiful in the continental U.S. from 1998 to 2001.

With over 20 miles of pristine shoreline and one of the nation's top rated beaches, this dune covered peninsula has plenty of drawing power. Guided nature walks, bird watching, swimming, camping and more are available.

In the mood for a scenic drive in Florida? Try the Ocean Shore Scenic Highway. It's 7.3 miles of unobstructed ocean view along A1A near Daytona Beach.

Stop at Flagler or Beverly Beach or any of the many camping, picnicking, or fishing spots....bicycle, jog or walk the numerous trails....easily accessible in the parks and recreational areas along the way.

While enjoying your Florida Disney vacation drive a short way Northeast of Orlando to Mount Dora. Famous for its antiques....including Renninger's Antique Market which attracts thousands to its weekend fairs and extravaganzas.

Bed-and-Breakfasts, cafes and lots of unique shops - all within easy walking distance of each other and beautiful Lake Dora. The Miss Dora Tour Boat takes you through a canal to Lake Dora and Lake Eustis.

Florida Vacation Spots #4:

Kissimmee Florida Alligator
By Kim from Alabama - My favorite place for vacations is Kissimmee and Orlando Florida. There are so many different things to do. While you are there you have to visit Disney World. That is fun for the entire family. You should plan at least two days for Disney.

There is so much to do and see from the rides, characters, parades and all the different types of food. My kids say that it really is the happiest place on earth! Epcot Center is another fun place and it is educational too. My whole family loves Universal Studios. There’s so much fun that you really need more than a day to do it all.

Don't forget to go to SeaWorld while you are there. The rides, attractions and shows are awesome! If you want to spend the day staying cool at the pool you have to try Wet 'n Wild. It is one of the most amazing water parks that I have ever seen. You can relax on the lazy river or have a blast on all the slides and in the wave pool. Kissimmee and Orlando Florida is my suggestion for fun family vacation ideas.

Florida Vacation Spots #5:

Sanibel National Wildlife Refuge makes a nice place for a Florida Family Vacation. It's a bird sanctuary made up primarily of two islands, Sanibel and Captiva.

The beaches are famous for their excellent shelling and the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum is located here.

Besides bird watching and shelling there are observation towers....a 5 mile wildlife drive....4.5 miles of nature trails for walking....guided or self-guided ecosystem tours.

Florida Vacation Ideas #7:

Warm Mineral Springs is a popular vacation spot in Florida. It's located on Florida's Beautiful Gulf Coast, halfway between Sarasota and Fort Myers. The springs here are indeed warm, with a year round temperature of 87 degrees. In fact it is the only truly warm spring in the state that is open to the public. Warm Mineral Springs is also known for its very high mineral content.

The water here has as much as 5 times the amount of minerals that you will find in many of the more famous springs and spas around the world. Many people believe that the minerals have healing properties for a variety of ailments and come here seeking relief. This is also believed by many to be the original "Fountain of Youth" discovered by the Spanish explorer Ponce de Leon.

Florida Vacation Spots #8:

Mingle with the birds at the theme park/bird reserve, Parrot Jungle Island. Located between downtown Miami and South Beach, this unusual Florida tourist attraction was started as a place where exotic birds can "fly free".

It is now home to over 1,000 tropical birds as well as orangutans, tigers, and reptiles. Take a self-guided tour of the beautiful, lush tropical gardens. Visit the Manu Encounter which houses over 3000 unique animals including Squirrel Monkeys and Macaws.

Florida Vacation Ideas #9:

The vacation my husband and I went on this past October was my favorite. We went to Pensacola, Florida for a couple of days and just enjoyed the beach. We traveled up the coast and spent a couple of days in Gulf Shores, Alabama and spent some time at Lake Shelby at the Gulf State Park.
Pensacola Florida Beach

This is a tradition for my family every time we are in the area. We have been visiting the spot for years. It's so relaxing and a perfect break from the heat. After enjoying Gulf Shores for a couple of days, we moved on to Fairhope, Alabama. This is a great community with lots of art galleries and great restaurants.

They have a community pier which is great for enjoying the sunset over Mobile Bay. We were there for Oktoberfest so we drove to Mobile to enjoy the festivities. It was great. We had so much fun and plan to go back next year. - Ginger from Arkansas
