Bay Harbor Island has a nice mile and a half long beach and it’s close to South Beach and other Miami beaches. For accommodations you may want to try Bay Harbor Inn. It’s a charming, close to the beach and reasonably priced.

The island is home to protected wildlife like manatees and several bird species. The beaches are excellent here for swimming, sunbathing shelling. You can scuba dive in the water off the island. There are island trails for bicycling and walks. A nice resort to try is the Gasparilla Inn & Club. It’s a great place to enjoy the island’s sport fishing and golf.

The Gulfarium on the Okaloosa Island Boardwalk has live marine shows. Fish at the island Fishing Pier or take the family out for a boat fishing trip with one of the island charter companies. Play golf at the Shalimar Pointe Golf and Country Club or the Fort Walton Beach Golf Club.

In order to be able to stay here you need to look for an owner who is renting out their week in their unit. It really is pretty simple to do this and is much easier than becoming an owner.

Casa Ybel has everything you need; the condos are more like apartments than anything else and easily accommodate four or more guests. Sanibel Island is known for having one of the best shelling beaches in the world.

Casa Ybel boats an Olympic size swimming pool, kiddy pool, and hot tub. The pool deck is a great size and the beach bar and restaurant, "Coconuts", is open daily with a full service bar. The Thistle Lodge Restaurant is also located on the property.

The Island also has many different one-of-kind restaurants. If you are in the mood for Italian I would recommend Matzaluna's, if you are bringing the kids I would recommend the Bubble Room, and if you are in the mood for a romantic dinner I would recommend catching the sunset at the Green Flash on Captiva Island which is only a short drive away.

If you are in the mood for dancing I would recommend the Jacaranda. There are many more restaurants on the island but these were my favorite places. If you decide to take a vacation here you will be happy you did!

On our last trip, we have a large group of people, including lots of small children, so going out to eat was not an easy option, so we went and bought lots of lobster, shrimp, crab and scallops and boiled some of it and grilled some of it. All the adults help with cooking and cleaning, and there is a feast for the evening, without expensive restaurant prices!
