A Festival Vacation can be great vacation idea if you like a party atmosphere with lots of people and a variety of food and entertainment. There are lots of festivals around the world with different themes. With a little searching you should be able to find some that have a theme to your liking. I have a few here to get you started thinking.

Festival Vacation Idea#1:
The National Storytelling Festival is held every October in Jonesborough, Tennessee. Large circus-type tents are set up downtown where everyone gathers to enjoy the talents of gifted storytellers from around the world. Just one example out of many is Bill Lepp. He is the winner of five "Biggest Liar" titles telling original, Appalachian tall-tales. Other storytelling festivals are the Corn Island Storytelling Festival in Louisville, Kentucky.... Toronto Storytelling Festival, Ontario, Canada.... The Tejas Storytelling Festival, Denton, Texas.

Festival Vacation Idea#2:
Enjoy your vacation and festival at the biggest winter carnival in the world. For over 50 years, in the heart of the old Quebec, Canadians have been celebrating the Québec Winter Carnival with fun-filled family activities. You will find world-class sporting, artistic, and cultural activities as well as snow bath, night parades, slide runs, giant foot ball game, ice fishing, concerts, snow sculptures, horse-drawn sleigh or dogsled rides, Ice Tower and skating.

Festival Vacation Idea#3:
Albuquerque, New Mexico is host to the International Balloon Fiesta. Here you can see hundreds of hot air balloons all rise together up into the sky. Various balloon competitions and races are part of the festivities. The most spectacular moment is the Balloon Glow where the balloons go up at night and simultaneously fire their burners to light up the sky. They have special shape balloons in the form of various things like flying houses, cars, cacti, ristras, bottles, cans and animals.

Festival Vacation Idea#4:
The International Cherry Blossom Festival is held every March in Macon, Georgia. Celebrate spring in the "Cherry Blossom Capital of the World". Besides the beauty of 300,000 flowering Yoshino cherry trees you can enjoy a host of other activities. There are nightly concerts with top regional and national talent. Hot-air balloons, breath-taking air shows, a marathon, colorful parades, historic tours, an unforgettable Bengal tiger show, dazzling fireworks displays, and amusement rides.

Festival Vacation Idea#5:
Hawaii’s largest festival is the Aloha Festivals. Held in Honolulu, Aloha Festivals is a statewide cultural celebration of Hawaii’s music, dance and history. There are over 300 events held on six islands during September and October. Nearly 1 million visitors come from around the world to participate in this island tradition.

Festival Vacation Idea#6:
Get a new look at the arts. Attend the leading arts festival in England - The Brighton Festival. For three weeks in May, Brighton showcases both local and international artists. From circus, live music and comedy to live art, film, dance and pyrotechnic spectacle. The Brighton Festival is a mix of the highest quality performance and contemporary street art. Brighton Festival is great for children and families.
