Europe Travel Destinations #1:
The county of Clare, Ireland is the home of the spectacular Cliffs of Moher. The cliffs are a 5 mile stretch of coastline that is a continuous series of sheer rock faces rising up 700 feet from the Atlantic.

The Cliffs of Moher jut out into the sea providing visitors with a dramatic panoramic view of the ocean. Clare County is just west of the Shannon airport and offers many things to see and do.

Take a guided tour of the Aillwee Cave, in Ballyvaughan and see the stalactites, stalagmites, relics of bears, and a waterfall.

Bunratty Castle is an authentic medieval castle built in 1425. Cliffs & Aran Cruises has day trips to Aran Island along with a sea level tour of the Cliffs of Moher.

Another very popular Clare County cave attraction is The Doolan Cave with one of the largest free hanging stalactite anywhere in the world.

The town of Zakopane is a very popular mountain resort in southern Poland. Located in the beautiful Tatra Mountains, there is always something to do here year round. In winter the mountains provide excellent skiing.

Kasprowy Wierch, Nosal and Gubalowka are three of the most popular slopes. Summer is time for hiking and wildlife viewing. You can take a cable car to the summit of Kasprowy Wierch for a panoramic view that is great any time of year.

Nearby you can visit the centuries old Niedzica Castle and the ruins of Czorsztyn. Also around Czorsztyn Lake are five of Poland’s old wooden churches.

These UNESCO recognized churches can be found around southern Poland and are an important representation of the country’s medieval heritage. Year round Zakopane is a great vacation spot to enjoy the outdoors and relax in a beautiful scenic setting.

Here’s a rather exotic vacation ideas. You can actually stay in an old prison at Malmaison Oxford Castle, in England. There are no longer any inmates shuffling along the corridors but the jailhouse ambiance still prevails.

It’s enough to send a shiver up your spine. You will be sleeping in the original cells but, not to worry, there have been a few upgrades such as carpets, curtains and soft mattresses.

Vacation ideas like this may be a little creepy for some but if you want something different than this may be just you are looking for.

Explore million year old underground caverns in Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole, England. The Cheddar Gorge caves are located in Somerset, near Bath and Wells.

The natural formations and cathedral-like caverns are impressive enough but the owners have added some fun things like holograms and other special effects.

A rather gruesome exhibit displays Britain’s oldest complete skeleton which is more than 9,000 years old. You can join in supervised beginners caving and rock climbing adventures.

Thinking of heading to Moscow, Russia for a vacation trip? Check out the Tretyakov Gallery This museum has been around since the 1850’s and has ammassed an astounding number of exhibits (130,000 give or take a few). This is a national treasury of Russian art.

Two traditional tourist spots, but are still don’t-miss places, are Moscow Red Square and The Kremlin. The Moscow River runs through the city and a great way to see the city is a river cruise. These are widely available and well worth yout time.

On Scotland's east coast is The Kingdom of Fife you will find the country's best-kept beaches, the world home of golf in St Andrews, the delightful East Neuk fishing villages, and the historic capital of Dunfermline. Castles, cathedrals, gardens, leisure centers and family attractions abound in The Kingdom of Fife.

Santa's Village is a quaint little theme park just above the Arctic Circle in Finland. Here you will find Santa's Office where all the secrets of Santa are revealed and everyone can meet with Santa himself every day of the year. This is also where the elves put the official Santa postmark on all letters.

The Christmas House is an exhibition that showcases the traditional Finnish origins of Christmas, the Christmas Tree and how it is celebrated in Finland.

Nearby is Napapiri Reindeer Park where Santa's reindeer are kept during the year. Also nearby is Santa Park where the kids can have some fun helping the elves make toys and bake goodies as well as have a turn sitting on Santa's lap.
