Europe Tourist Attractions #1:
By Raul, Romania - The vacation I took a while ago was great! I went to Ceahlau Mountain in Romania with my family. We heard it was a nice and very special place to stay and relax so we went there with some friends also. The mountain was absolutely fantastic, there was fresh air everywhere! Escaping the city routine was never easier. The mountain has some deep forests that you can explore. It's very quiet. The fresh cold mountain air relaxes you so much, and you have a beautiful panorama for your eyes.

We took a lot of good photos of the mountain; the majestic mountain which was impressing us at every step! I still watch the photos every few weeks, and I'm telling myself "I'm going to go there again". I totally recommend going there, even if you live in other countries, the mountains you can find in Romania have no match!

By Kenneth, NY - The best vacation I ever had was when we spent 10 days in Europe starting in London. We spent our first 3 days just getting used to the city and seeing the sites such as the Eye of London, Big Ben and Harrods. We then traveled to Normandy France via overnight ferry which was just so much fun. The reason for the Normandy trip was because I am an avid WW2 history buff and I just had to see the beaches.

On our first day in France we spent half a day touring Normandy using the Battle Bus Tours. We had our own private guide that drove us to all of the sites including Omaha beach and the cemetery you may remember from Saving Private Ryan.

The guide showed us all of the German Bunkers that are still there and the bomb craters and it was just amazing! The next leg of our trip was supposed to be a train ride to Paris but it turned into a rental car drive to Paris because the rail workers were on strike. It took a few hours to drive to Paris so we saw the French country but driving through Paris was an experience I will never forget!

We spent 3 days in Paris where we walked through the city, visited the Louge along with tons of other museums and sites. And of course we could not miss the Eiffel Tower which we visited at night and will never, ever forget. Finally we traveled back to London via jet which only took about an hour. We spent our final days visiting as many of London's sites as we could.

To visit as many sites as we could in the short time we had left, we utilized the famous Black Taxis and they were a big help. You could not turn around without running into a black cab so it was very easy. London is a great city for Europe tourist attractions and this was the best 10 days I have ever spent. Europe is so historic and everything just seems so close. If you really want to see the world I would start with London and Paris and make a detour to Normandy. You will not be disappointed.

Europe Tourist Attractions #3:
By Carol, NH - I took a vacation in August to Rome, Italy. It was wonderful in every way I imagined—food, hotel, sightseeing, and people I met. I began my visit on the Spanish Steps near my hotel, one of the many piazzas where people meet near fountains with coffee and that delicious gelato.

The art is everywhere you turn, on the buildings, in the buildings, and in all the piazzas. You can walk to most of the major attractions in the city although they also have cabs available at many taxi stations. I did the "tourist" things like visit Vatican City where the Sistine Chapel is breathtaking (you enter in numbered groups and are not allowed to talk or take photos).

There are long lines unless you hire a tour guide which will take you closer to the front of lines. The guides are great as well because of all the information you learn as you walk through places like St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museum. There are so many artifacts in the Vatican Museum that you could view each item for 1 minute and it would take seven years to see everything! Needless to say, you want to schedule some time for this visit.

In Rome, I also visited the Roman Colosseum which is one of the popular Europe tourist attractions. We enjoyed it a lot especially with the tour guide who told our group about the history of the construction and eventual de-construction of the massive arena.

The floor is gone now so you can see the maze of hallways where the gladiators roamed before their fights underneath the structure. Its sheer size is almost overwhelming. The Colosseum is near the Roman Forum, another must-see to first-time tourists. This is the seat of ancient Roman government and well-worth the price of a tour guide to get all the history of these ruins.

Rome is full of restaurants and cafes that serve some of the best food and wines in the world. A Roman specialty is Pasta Carbonara which I tried in 5 different places! It is delicious. There are inexpensive places to have a slice of pizza or sandwich to the more expensive meals—you can find anything you want there.

Their coffee is small and strong. If you want a cup of coffee like most Americans are used to, you have to order it that way! Rome is a great city to take a vacation to, though it is an expensive place to visit if you want to really enjoy all it has to offer.

Many of the shops are high-end designers though there are some areas of the cities where you can shop markets. I found the Italian people to be helpful and friendly, especially with directions. By far, this is the best vacation I have ever had for Europe tourist attractions.
