There is plenty of room to relax, play and take a long scenic walk along the water. There are a number of fine resorts lining the beach but the beach itself is open to the public. Many of these are timeshare properties such as the La Cabana Resort and the Costa Linda Beach Resort.
Two of the nice non-timeshare resorts here are the Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa and the Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort. If you are planning a romantic getaway, try the award-winning, adults-only Bucuti Beach Resort.
One of the smaller hotels is the MVC Eagle Beach Resort which is located along one of the quieter sections of the beach. So this might be a good place to avoid some the beach going crowds.
Its small size has kept it from being overrun by tourism. Most of the island’s center is taken up by the 3,200 foot high volcano, Nevis Peak. High-rise hotels, casinos and cruise ships won’t be found here.
What you will find is a lush tropical landscape and friendly locals eager to share their island culture with you. You will find four main beaches on the island: Windward Beach, Nisbet Beach, Oualie Beach and Pinney’s Beach. Of these, Oualie Beach is probably the best. Windsurfing, snorkeling and scuba diving are big here.
There are some really nice hotels along the beach like Oualie Beach Resort. This is a family operated resort that offers beautiful beachside cottages. Oualie Beach Resort can arrange for fun activities such as horseback riding, hiking in the rain forest, reef snorkeling, ocean kayaking and scuba diving.
Orient Bay is very popular and not just because of the clothing optional policy. The beach waters are calm and gently sloped making it great for swimming and snorkeling. The bay is protected by an underwater reef making it the perfect playground for water sports. There are loads of shops, bars and restaurants – everything you could want for a fun vacation stay.
Another option which is the opposite of the wilder Club Orient is the small plantation style resort Hotel La Plantation. Located just a short walk inland off Orient Beach, La Plantation offers a lush tropical garden setting with true Caribbean style villas and a gourmet restaurant.
Bolongo Bay Beach Resort has an award winning all-inclusive vacation package designed to take all the worry out of your stay. One of the nice things about their all-inclusive package is the unlimited use of equipment for playing in the water. You can get snorkel gear, kayaks, paddle boards and other non-motorized water sports equipment. They also have a catamaran that will take out sailing on the ocean.
