It's just plain fun to explore nature with a llama at your side. The kids will love them. Your llama trek vacation sets up in a base camp. You then set out into the wilds to hike, explore, fish and see the elk, mule deer, mountain goats and bighorn sheep. If you are looking for fun and unusual family vacation activities, try a llama trek vacation. That means there are plenty of places to explore as you guide your houseboat around the lake such as uninhabited islands, coves, river inlets, historic towns along the shore and the Shasta Dam. You can also take the houseboat to the Shasta Caverns where you can take a tour of the caves. The houseboats have room up to 10 people and are equipped everything the family needs. Just bring your own food and drinks. There will be lots of horseback trail riding and other fun activities like a chuck-wagon supper, fishing for 12-inch trout, bonfires, marshmallow roasts, square dancing and rodeos. If you are up for it, there is a 3-day guided pack trip up into the mountains. There are organized kid’s activities run by ranch staff including an overnight tent trip. Nearby attractions are Yellowstone National Park and Mount Rushmore national Monument. After we get settled in the first day we bought VIP passes to ride the hulk ride and Spiderman ride. It costs some money but if you do not want to stand in the hot Florida sun for 2 hours in a line it is worth it. Plus it frees up a lot of time to do other things in the park and get all your money’s worth. The food and drinks in there are very expensive but it’s really good if you can afford it. Well we went around riding the Hulk Spiderman ride that day and seeing some shows. It was like a Broadway music show but it was cool to watch. The second day we went to Sea World. That was a lot of fun. We got to touch fish and sea animals but seeing Shamou was the best. It was so cool getting splashed by a whale although my phone got ruined. But all in all, the time there was really fun I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good fun time. After looking at the choices near the Austin, Texas area, I settled on Sea World, which is located in San Antonio. San Antonio is about an hour and a half away from Austin, so the distance made it reasonable for a day trip. Sea World is not only educational, but fun for children too. The admission prices are moderate, but I had a coupon which allowed me to pay only $5 for my son's admission - a savings of about $30. Even without the discount, I feel Sea World is more than worth a visit, especially if you have young children. My son had a wonderful time, and I plan to take him back again next summer. While in town, we ate at Sea World, which is expensive, as is to be expected at a theme park. We also stopped by the IHOP restaurant in the Westgate shopping center, near Highway 151. The food at this IHOP was fine, and the restaurant was clean. However, the service was lackluster and quite slow; the restaurant was hardly busy when we were there. Still, I lucked out and visited the restaurant during a period of time where each kid's meal was free with the purchase of an adult entree. Based on that alone, I would patronize this particular IHOP again, if I were in the area. Without the free meal? Skip IHOP and go to one of the many other restaurants in the Westgate shopping center.
