Beautiful Mackinac Island in Northern Wisconsin

I grew up in Northern Wisconsin and by far my favorite vacation spot is Mackinac Island, Michigan. It’s a great vacation for a family or a couple. It’s not only a beautiful place to be but it’s also a learning experience.

If you’ve got a decent budget to work with you can stay at the Historic Grand Hotel. Movies have been filmed there, stars have stayed there and even presidents have stayed there. The Grand Hotel is quit the resort. There are many shops and restaurants in the hotel and outside there is a golf course and many other activities.

You can go see Fort Mackinac and learn about the history of Mackinac Island and how it was an old War Fort. You can take a horseback ride, a carriage ride, bicycle or walk around the Island.

There are also many historic buildings on the island that you can go into and explore. If you have a sweet tooth Mackinac Island is well known for it’s fudge. The Island is open from the end of May to the beginning of October.
