We had a Jacuzzi in our room that was awesome! Cool, quiet view. It was perfect. And then, the Spa! I splurged on the four hand massage!! I highly recommend this to everyone! An added bonus…the resort is so large you get lots of walking in so you can eat whatever you want & not worry about it! Between the luxurious spa, all the pool choices, the gorgeous beach, amazing food choices, and the friendly attentive staff, we really felt spoiled. I have been to several resorts in the Riviera Maya, and this is my favorite so far! The suites offered a butler who provided us with anything we could ask for (including bottles of top shelf liquor which is rare even in all-inclusive destinations). The suite provided a Jacuzzi and a balcony with a hammock. The pool is salt water and around 4 feet deep the entire length. We spent most days on the beach with waiters bringing us drink (try the Negro Modelo). At night, there was entertainment in the resorts amphitheater. If you're looking for an adult resort where you can relax all day and try interesting foods with a bottle of wine at night, this is the resort for you! This resort is located right on the beach. The ocean view of that crystal blue water is amazing. The Gran Caribe has activities for young and old. They had a camp for children and they seemed to be having a lot of fun. For the adults there were so many activities it could be a bit overwhelming but Raul was able to help us plan our every move. The drinks were a bit weak at first but after getting to know our bartender Adrianna she really took care of us. The city's night life is just a few minutes away by taxi. There are a lot of great restaurants in town if you want to venture out but we mostly stayed on property because there was so much to do there. The sand on the beach was soft and had virtually no rocks and the water was to die for. They had a great spa but we were so busy we did not have time to enjoy it. Overall this is a large resort but the staff was able to keep things very clean. I would recommend this place for couples or small groups. The inclusive packages are great for the price you pay. I hope to return to the Gran Caribe Resort & Spa in the near future. You should include it in your list of vacation ideas. I have travelled all over the Caribbean but this resort is truly something special! I will start by saying that if you are looking for a "Hilton-type resort" – with high-rise buildings and small beaches... than this resort is not for you! It is Huge! Attached to the Barcelo Maya Golf and Barcelo Maya Garden, the resort offers lots & lots of space, scenery and trails. It is so big that a train is available for tourists to travel around the resort grounds more freely. Apart from the size of the resort, the main attraction (for me and my family) is without a doubt the quality of the reefs. The snorkeling reefs are very hard to beat in the Mayan Riviera region. I am a big fan of snorkeling and this is the place to practice the sport! So many different types of fish and sea lots of them!! I could easily spend my whole afternoon snorkeling - not realizing that I had been doing so for a few hours... which caused me to have quite the sunburn! But what I really enjoy when you stay at a resort like this one is that you can spend a full week enjoying the resort. There is so much to do and so much to see that you do not have to step outside the resort walls! I highly recommend this all inclusive Cancun Mexico vacation resort. It's a vacation idea that has stolen my heart and I'm sure it will steal yours as well!
