Rossland is located 3,400 feet high in the Monashee Mountains. Rossland is a small historic former mining town that now is the center of activity for mountain biking and skiing.

Rossland has been called "Canada's #1 Outdoor Town". For skiing, snowboarding, backcountry touring, Cat & Heli skiing or cross country skiing, head to Red Mountain Resort.

The Red Mountain Resort can trace its skiing start all the way back to 1929 as the Trail-Rossland Ski Club. Today it is considered by many to be one of the best "undiscovered" ski destinations anywhere. The mountains and valley around Rossland is covered with trails that are treasured by mountain bikers.

Algonquin Park, in Ontario, Canada is a great place to go for an adventure vacation. Here you will find a breathtaking Canadian wilderness and it’s only about 100 miles over the border from New York. The park is huge, covered with dense forest. The area is dotted with hundreds of lakes for fishing, canoeing and kayaking. Algonquin Park is perfect for an outdoor adventure vacation. You can explore the wilderness using the 17 interpretive trails.

There’s plenty of moose and other wildlife to see and photograph. There are also many paths which are great for mountain biking. Adventure Lodge has 6 cottages in Algonquin Park. They are only available for adults though, no children. One of the specialties offered at Adventure Lodge is dog-sledding. They have trips as short as 2 hours all the way up to a full overnight dog sledding trip where you stay in a log hut.


For serious adventurers in great physical condition and advanced experience, how about a vacation where you climb the second highest peak in North America, Mount Logan. This can be arranged through a company called Mountain Madness.
