A great area to visit in Italy is Rome. Of all the history Rome has, there is nothing that can compare to seeing the Roman Coliseum. It is enormous, full of history and there is nothing like it any where else in the world.
You can take guided tours of the Coliseum that offer you views and insights that you would not find any where else.
From the seats and views the spectators had to visiting the areas where the gladiators and animals would wait to fight, you get to see it all.
As far as nearby attractions, there are places to eat as well as shop.
This is defiantly a place that is a must see.
The history is unlike anything you will find anywhere else and it is amazing that it is still standing after all theses years.
It is a true testament of Roman architecture and how advanced the Romans were.
The Coliseum in Italy is a large amphitheater located in the center of Rome.
It was completed in 80 AD and is probably one of the most well known landmarks.
It is visited by millions each year and for good reason. The decaying ruins are a testament to the ingenuity and strength of the Roman Empire.
They were able to conquer and enjoy themselves, as well.
The Coliseum was used for games, plays, executions and all sorts of entertainment. It was a gathering spot for all.
It held up to 50,000 people. When you are in it, you can almost feel the games taking place around you.
It lives today in a half state showing the remarkable engineering capabilities of the Romans. It is a truly incredible place.
